He may be friendly to a small number of dogs. But he is super agressive to many other dogs especially to bigger size unknown dogs. He socialise often at different parks but some dogs, he just cannot get along with. Usually, he will start to be aggrssive first and if the other dog reacts, he will fight. He has been hurt by one big dog before.

Yesterday we had to have our 7 year old Pit Bull euthanized because of various health problems. He had heartworms (which we knew about (long story), but anyway, he had serious other problems as well, and no doubt it was the best thing for him. I was wondering though, does anybody know if vets are more apt to "put down" pit bulls more than other dog breeds?
Also, does anybody know if vets are required to report to anyone when they "put down" an animal, and if so, to whom do they report it?

I was wondering what are the benefits of registering a dog with the CKC. I have an american pitbull terrier and just got her papers from the previous owners. With the paper was a registration form for CKC and I was wondering if I should fill it one out (it's old I printed a newer one) and send it in. What are the benefits?

Finally, I think I have made some head way with the topic of getting a dog, finding the true reason my dad does not wish a dog in the home. Because they smell and such, but that can alll be taken care of easily, I stated that I would be doing all that, and he denied that I did. So, I'm out on a mission to prove to my father that I can be more responsible then I already am. In hope, that one day when he finally sees that I am responsible enough in his eyes, to get a dog.

-Thankyou, Sunny.

I read an article yesterday on MSN.com that was about shipping abandoned animals from a war torn area in Lebanon to the USA for adoption. I am an animal lover, but I have a problem with this. The cost of this mission is $250,000 to ship 300 animals. While I am all for saving animals, there is already an over population problem in US shelters. Animals are being euthanized daily, and we are shipping more in? I think the money could have been put to use more logically, and been able to help many more animals in the process.

Am I entirely off base here, or does anyone else agree with me?

My family has 4 dogs. One is a male, the rest are female. The male dog (Toby) "molested" one of the female dogs (Daphnie). After that, Daphnie started "molesting" a stuffed animal. Now, about 8 months later Toby (who is neutered) is "molesting" Daphnie again. My question, is now Daphnie tries to "molest" one of the other female dogs (Ginger). Is this normal?

Do you think it is right to sell these so called Designer dogs?
Way back when they were muts and not worth anything.
Do you think they will go out of style?

I have a 18 month old male Chihuahua and over the past few weeks he has developed this terrible habit of peeing on any kind of plastic bags or my boyfriend's bean bag chair. Does anyone know why this is or what I can do to stop it? We don't want to get him altered because he is from a champion bloodline but need other options.

I am thinking about keeping one of the puppies, if my Jack Russell terrier has more than one. Should I keep a boy or a girl? Which will the mother get along with best?
cheers, Chris

When I asked my vet, they tried to sell me some really expensive shampoo that they said was gentle and pH balanced - so it wouldn't interfere with the flea medication. But isn't there something cheaper?

She always asks me for a piece when I'm eating it but when I give it to her she doesn't eat it. She just drops it on the floor, rolls around on it and rubs her face and neck in it. What's she doing?

She doesn't need a trainer, I just want her to stop trying to bite whatever she encounters (our cats, me, the couch) She thinks it's a game and tries to wrestle us but today she nipped me in the face!
