My puppy is going through her first heat and we are a bit concerned. It has been five days and she is still bleeding everywhere. Is this normal? How long does it usually take?

I have tried having them ignore her when they come in the house. I try to put her in the crate but sometimes I don't get her in there fast enough and the deed is done. What can I do? How do I train her to stop? She socializes with plenty of people and dogs.

One of my dogs, a lab mix, is acting strange. He is lethargic, his eyes are sad, and he just isn't acting himself. It isn't parvo; he has been vaccinated, neutered, and is 9 years old. he doesn't have diarrhea and he's not throwing up. What is wrong with him?

Ok I have a 11 month old German shepherd/lab/chow mix. He is going to be neutered this Friday. I was told he would not be happy anymore, and will not be the dog he is. The reason I was told is he will lose his testoterone and won't be active anymore, is this true?

I read a story about a Native American who was tortured by burning the soles of his feet till they blistered. He escaped and some wolves came up and started licking his feet. They kept coming back every night for several days and licked his feet. After a few days, his feet healed. Can a dog/wolf licking you heal your body?

I picked up a stray dog the other day, in the effort to "save" it. Sure enough, I no sooner get it home than my golden retriever goes into heat for the first time. I have been trying to find the other dogs owners because we just can't have another dog. But, this dog runs around my golden with his winkie out trying to mount her. Can he do this if he's fixed? His nails were trimmed and he had on a collar, I'm hoping that might mean someone also fixed him. We were wanting to breed the golden but not with this mutt and certainly not her first time to go into heat. What are my chances that he's impregnated her? Oh man, perish the thought!

I have 2 dogs that unless always entertained they will tear anything in their site up. During the day they stay in the back yard and have access to our garage for those cool or hot days. They have eaten holes in the dry wall, the 2X4's, dig holes in the yard, eat the little trees trying to grow in the back yard, and just today dug up our water sprinkler line and busted it and water was going everywhere. I don't see them do any of this so how can I punish them after the fact. Will they remember what they did if it happened hours before. I don't know how to get them to stop. We give them so much attention while we are home. Unless we are gone they are inside all the time and even sleep with us at night. How can I teach them not to do these things??? We have given them tons of toys and bones but that doesn't seem to matter.

Help. My dog has ticks! I've treated the yard with tick-killing granules, washed the dog with insecticide shampoo, insect-bombed the house and applied Advantage plus. I'm feel like i'm poisoning the poor dog and everyone in my house, and I'm still finding ticks!

I really have been wanting a dog lately. one of the dogs I found on spca said it was housebroken. Then a little further down the description it said it was crate trained. So she doesn't pee in the house since she is locked up all day? I think its mean to lock a puppy up all day. What do y'all think.
