my dog does that too, she chews on the coffee table, mostly she likes plastic things, like hangers. The vet said she was teething.

Maybe she's teething..if she's is a puppy otherwise that kind of behavior is natural. My dog does it all the time. Yell at her when she does that and hopefully she'll stop. But I think it would be nice if you got her a piece of wood to chew on or a chew toy. Bring her out for a nice walk and/or run so she won't be so fixed on chewing things. Next time you visit your vet ask about this just to be safe.

Well like the other people have said- if it is a puppy it could be a teething issue. If she is older or if it is excessive it could be a boredom issue. I have a chocolate lab mix that used to sit on our deck and look out at the park while I was at school. She used to chew on the top rail- it looked like a horse had been "cribbing" there!

If you want to get her to stop- make sure she has a lot of chew toys- flavored ones help more like rawhide or hoofies. Also you could try spraying "Bitter Apple" and chew stopper you can get at any pet store or walmart- on the area she is chewing. If she is chewing inside on furniture I highly recommend this remedy. You will have to reapply every few days or so but it is highly effective.

I've seen a small dog chew down an entire tree once, before smacking me around the head with a thick branch. Whatever you do, stand well back and never say anything offensive to the dog.

supply her with things she can chew on and teach her a new trick to keep her mind stimulated. the toy called kong is great. you put food in it and they have to work to get the food out.

Your dog is bored stiff. You need to take it out for a 60 minute run every day.
