I use febreeze the one for airbourne odors and febreeze on carpet and furniture once a day or so. Its harmless to pets. I also get my rugs cleaned every 4-6 months.

Vinegar works great for specific spots. It destroys the amino acids in the urine.
Febreeze does work great on fabrics or carpets.
Having the carpets professionally cleaned is a good idea too.
Giving the dog or dogs a monthly bath is good too.
Also if you sprinkle baking soda on the carpet or furniture and leave it for 24 hrs before vacuuming it should absorb most or all of the odor.
If the animal is still there- it will be an ongoing process. Hope these tips help.

You can get rid of dog odor if you clean the carpet with clorox trust me I have a dog and I tried it It really works.

Febreeze, clean the carpets, wash the curtains, wash the bedding.Put baking soda where the dog lays and then vacuum it up.Use baking soda in the laundry ,too.Gets rid of odors.Good luck.

There is stuff called ARM&HAMMER odor eliminator spray for your carpet.
It's a foam that disolves in a few minutes.
It really helps.

if it's a white carpet that your dog peed on, use bleach. otherwise spray some febreeze everywhere
