Most dogs were at one time hunters but since they have become domesticated not many does do this now. It is a throw back from those hunting days and she does it to disguise her own scent from her prey.
I used to have a dog that used to roll in dead seagulls if she had the chance and the smell was awful.
Expensive tastes your dog.

They are going to be fine. They are going to throw up on the grounds that smoked salmon is powerful and could be very one of a kind on their stomachs, being that they've on no account had it. Nevertheless it's obviously nothing to worry about! My dog eats tuna from the can, and he swallowed and whole bird wing whole, (nothing to do with the fish quandary nevertheless it indicates what they may be able to get down) he's a mini schnauzer and he loves smoked salmon too!

This is what dogs do with fox poo. Perhaps she is telling you that she thinks of salmon the same she does of poo, and I for one agree! Yuk!
