I have heard about pits attacking children, but I love the breed. She is very sweet but I am scared to let my son around her. I am worried about what she would do. She is very playfull with me and other people that live in the house, should I let my son around her?

I have a new 10 week large breed dog, saint bernard/mastiff mix and was wondering what you recommend for feeding it? Also are veggies and fruits ok to add to his diet? And what about raw hide? My boyfriend told me it can cause trouble in their intestines if they eat it?

I have had my kitten for about a month. I have witnessed my 3 year old maItese mix eating from litter box several times. My dog has plenty of fresh food and water at all times.

My friend gave me her dog 2 days ago. As far as I am aware he did not have any fleas at the time ( she has 2 other dogs and they don't have fleas, and all of the dogs never have.) Yesterday I took him to the groomers and they didn't say anything about fleas, which I would assume they would have. Anyways today my 6 month old son has 2 groups of 3 little red bumps, one group on his arm, and one on his leg. I didn't even think about fleas until my father watched him and said that he had a couple little bites and they kinda looked like flea bites. So now the real question is does anyone know how fast fleas can come into the home, to bite humans. My fiance and I have both checked the dog and found nothing, but I'm wondering if this even sounds like fleas or what? Thanks for everyones imput!!!!

I'm thinking in terms of temperment, trainability, etc. I also imagine they need a lot of exercise

So my Boxer is almost 7 weeks old and I don't know if this is a puppy her age.

first off shes not very playful she would rather sleep in a corner than play. I have a 2 yr old and she will play around with him some but after about 5 mins she calls it quits and goes back in the coner to sleep.

also 2 nights ago we were playing with her and she was actually a little hyper for once and when we all went to bed i put her in her crate to sleep. In the morning when i went to let her outside she would not put much pressure on her front left paw and when she would she would limp. After a little while she began to walk and play like nothing was wrong with it. This morning she was walking and she seemed to trip up over her feet or something bc she just kinda fell over. but got up and walked normal afterward. I just got home and when i was feeding her she did not want to put pressure on her back right leg. I am bringing her this weekend to get her shots and see the vet for a puppy check up.

I have always wanted to know because she always leaves little red marks everywhere. She is a terrior mix, and the sweetist dog in the world.

My girl has 2 big dogs, a lab and a doverman. I have a cat. She has a crate for when we are at work. They are constantly dumping and pissing on the floor, on the furniture and everywhere in between. The place smells like heavy amonia and when I aproach her appartment the gaseous cloud hits me before I even enter. I am sick of it, but when I bring it up she gets her feelings hurt. I am at my wits end and my head is not getting enough oxegen so please excuse the spelling errors. I bought an air filter and I run it at max, but even with this it does not help. I like her so I do not want to get up and go, so how can I explain to her that small apartments and big annimals just do not work in the most political and polite way possible.

I have a 8 week old basset hound puppy who will be walking along and then he will stumble and start dragging his right back leg behind him, sometimes he drags both legs. He can walk for about 10 feet before he starts doing this. At first the vet thought it was an ear infection but after treatment he doesn't seem to be improveing much at all. Has anyone else ever had a puppy to do this? I'm at my wits end with worrying over this sweet little guy.

what do they like to do?
do they bark at all?
do they protect your family from people trying to cause harm?
do they scare off robers/thiefs?

My first mistake was pad training him. . . we got over that a long time ago. he goes outside and uses the bathroom, but he insist upon going inside of the house as well. We take him out all of the time, but he keeps doing it. I tried the crate training thing, but that too didnt work. I swear i can take him out and spend an hour outside, and five min later he is peeing on the floor. someone please help me, what should i do??

My friend has a Wolf/Husky puppy and he is SO SWEET. He can be a little fiesty at times, but usually not rough. She can't keep him, and just a few days ago asked me to take care of him. I'd love to, of course, but is there anything I should know about their temperment before I take him home?
