My friend has a Wolf/Husky puppy and he is SO SWEET. He can be a little fiesty at times, but usually not rough. She can't keep him, and just a few days ago asked me to take care of him. I'd love to, of course, but is there anything I should know about their temperment before I take him home?

This breed of dog can have it's moments, but I do truly believe that a dogs temperment comes with how the dog is treated. So always be kind be stern so he knows who the boss is. Remember both breeds a naturally pack animals, so they always be our best friend, if you give them reason to be. LOTS of LOVE and pets. GOOD LUCK If I was you I would take this puppy.

Huskies are genetically closest to wolves of all dogs. A puppy should be no problem, but grown wolf/dog hybrids may be a great problem, or they may not. Depends were they see themselves in the dominance hierarchy and size is directly proportional to dominance.

Depends on how much of the wolf dna it has in him. Huskies are usually sweet, yet they love to roam. With a wolf mixed in, they will become territorial and over protective. Don't ever feed it raw meat (you don't want it to start loving the taste of blood)

Stay away from wolf hybrids. You are asking for trouble. Most states have strict laws about owning them. There is no approved rabies vaccine for them. I have seen many over the years and most have terrible temperaments. You will have a huge liability on your hands if it bites someone.

Take him for sure. i have an alaskan malamute and my friends have the husky. they are quite teritorial, but how many dogs arent. mine is so protective of me too. he loves to eat and thinks that hes a lap dog, although hes way to massive. that way your friend can continue to have contact with the pup to, cos this would be a horrible stressful situation for them to be in

Most times it is the owner that makes the dog aggressive not the dog personally. If he seems sweet and you think you would be a good owner,I say go for it!

we had an alaskan malamute some time ago. we loved her. they are very loving, and so loyal. they act a puppy into older years, and they love toys. our CASS would lay on her back and toss a ball in the air with her paws then catch it. we lost a wonderful family member when she became sick. good luck with yours.
