My first mistake was pad training him. . . we got over that a long time ago. he goes outside and uses the bathroom, but he insist upon going inside of the house as well. We take him out all of the time, but he keeps doing it. I tried the crate training thing, but that too didnt work. I swear i can take him out and spend an hour outside, and five min later he is peeing on the floor. someone please help me, what should i do??

please keep in mind, he always goes when we take him outside, he knows that outside is a good place. Its just that he also pees inside, the crazy thing about it is that he knows that its wrong to go inside, and he hides when he does it.

First off, get a bell and put about a foot off the ground right at the door he will be going out to do his business. Now, I did several things depending on what part of the act I caught him in.
If he was sniffing around looking for a place to pee, I clapped my hands loudly and yelled "NO" then went and rang the bell, then I took him outside on a leash and wouldn't let him walk around until he did his business. Gave him a treat. Then let him back in the house
If I actually caught him in the act, I did the above and spanked him, did not ring the bell, then left him outside for the night.
If the act had already been done, I sat beside the wet spot until he came over and sniffed it, then I took him outside, no bell ringing, and left him there overnight.
Eventually, he'll ring the bell just to get a treat, but you can't give him one unless he actually goes outside to pee or poop then he'll start to catch on that the ringing of the bell means "I go do my business, get a treat, and go back inside".
When he does it right for the first time, act all happy, gives him/her lots of love, let it lick ya, give it a treat and play with the dog for a few minutes. and it will catch on.
Overall, I got him at 2 months old, and it took 4 months to really train him. I did this with my moms cocker spaniel that was 9 years old and after a month, he started ringing the bell to go poop/pee also, so you can teach old dogs new tricks.

Dang, that sucks! It sounds like you have exhausted every training technique available.
Take him to the vet and make absolutely sure he's ok. If it was me, and I knew the dog wasn't sick, when I brought him in the house I would leave him in a small room-- like the bathroom, or a fenced-off part of the kitchen, or something like a kid's playpen-- with newspapers on the floor. Leave him there until he pees or until it's time for him to go out again. When/if he does clean it up immediately and scold him (don't beat him, that's not gonna work), and then take him outside for a few minutes. Bring him back in and repeat. It's a tiresome process but at the very least you won't be cleaning stains out of your carpet several times a day, you'll just be throwing out peed-on newspapers.
I think the mistake you're making is that you are letting him come back in the house where there's carpeting or floors that he's peed on before. He can smell it and it stimulates him to pee again. If, when he pees on the floor in the house, you can get him to do it on newspapers instead of the carpet, you can pick the newspapers up and throw them out immediately so the smell won't remain. With any luck, after a few days of this you will see a change.
Good luck.

First, please check with a vet to make sure his kidneys, urinary tract, etc. are functioning as they should. Some small breeds are not able to "feel" when they have emptied their bladder, and are then able to finish only on your floor. After he urinates, clean the area, then use baking soda over your cleaner. This masks the smell, so your dog is less likely to "mark" the same area twice. It sounds like a physical problem that can be cured by a surgeon. Good Luck!!!

Brute force works, but it can also cause them to be afraid of you (Big mistake I made with my German Shepherd). Don't use it.
He probably thinks the house is where he is SUPPOSED to pee. Sternly tell him "No!" and rush him outside. Likely enough, he'll still need to finish, then praise him or give him a treat/toy. Soon, he'll connect that "Outside is good!" and "Inside is bad!", and you'll have a much happier doggy!

i don't want to say it's hopeless but teaching a dog to pee on a pad is like saying "sure, pee on the floor". after he uses it in the house, show him the pee and fuss at him and put him in his crate for awhile. may work, not sure. worked on some of the animals i know.

that's because you trained him as if he was a dog....
stop reverse lets start over again....
get him a pot-tie, put him on that pot ever day at the same time of day. do not let him get up no matter how bad he wants to let him sit turn on a lil water for him to hear it so that it can help him concentrate on urinating.. put him on that pot several times a day at the same time. get you a lil switch. show it to him and tell him he is not to get up. the first couple of times that he get up and wet on himself tap his lil leg with it and he will get the message.

My vet says that male dogs sometimes have problems with their prostate glands that can cause this. Maybe you should have him checked. They do have doggie diapers now too, but I don't know how well that would work out. My dog would rip them off.

take him out frequently... also try snack rewards.. i finally got my lab/dal mix trained when i used the Scooby-Doo peanut butter snacks... dogs will do anything for peanut butter... also try rubbing their nose in it.. if you get the nose full of urine it stings, i know this sounds cruel but it does leave quite an impression on the dog
