Don't know any tricks or recommendations, but my stepson persuaded me to do it. And he doesn't even live with us, so that means I have to take care or the dog. Luckily, I love small dogs, and we got one. Fourteen years later, she's still with us. Study up on the responsibilities of dog ownership. All the things you will have to do if you have a dog. Learn it and know it well. Promise your mom that you'll take care of the dog, and if you have done your research, you'll be prepared with good answers for the questions she will undoubtedly pose. She will see that you know your stuff, and will be more likely to submit. There is a good bit of expense involved, too. Be prepared to take a part-time job to support your dog's needs. Don't put it on her. She's not the one that wants the dog. Take responsibility for all aspects of dog ownership.

Why are you looking for way's to trick your Mom? Leave her alone about it and show how responsable you can be. Find an animal rescue group or go to your local animal shelter and volunteer for a while. You will accomplish two thing's, you will see what having a dog around is really all about and you will be showing your Mom how much you want a pup. Your Mom know's what's best for your family and I expect she know's the cost both in time and money it takes to care for a dog properly. Do try to understand where your Mom is comming from think about her reason's for saying no right now and respect her decision. When you are grown up and don't live at home , do what you want then.

Getting a pup is lot of fun and responsibility too. It is a very long-term commitment. So it is a whole family's decision. Especially moms have to be very responsible towards them, coz they look after them. Generally kids and hubbys are not present during the day, so,moms feed them, give them a wash or take out for a walk... You can persuade her by telling her that you will help her in grooming the pet. Dogs need a lot of care and have to be treated like babies coz they cannot do anything for themselves.. and taking care of a baby for 14years is indeed a challenge for the whole family. If you can take care for the next 14years, there is a point in getting a pet now. But if you leave your home after few years for higher studies or job, then i dont think its advisable, coz your mom will have to face the total responsibility. If she totally accepts the dog from the beginning then she will be pretty comfortable with it, otherwise it may not be easy for her. Think about your situations. THINK TWICE BEFORE U GET A PET. ONCE YOU HAVE A DOG, REMEMBER THAT YOU HAVE A LONG COMMITMENT OF LOVE AND CARING WITH HER.

It took me 14 years to get my first dog! My friends aunt found a stray corgie cross and no one claimed him and her other dogs beat him up. So I took him home, my Mom fell in love but my Dad said no, so I took him back, the next day my Mom told me to go and get my dog. Kasey only lived with us for 4 months, he was old when we got him(vet said 14). He died a week before christmas. His christmas gift was alreay under the tree with his name on it. 2 days after he died my Dad told my sister and I we where going christmas shopping, we started getting suspicious when Dad statred leaving town. He's a taper so we figured he was going to pick up a cheque first. After leaving us in the truck for a few minutes he called us, there comming out of the porch was 8 corgie german shepard cross puppies! Buddy lived for 11 years, until his hips and arthritis got too bad and we had to say goodby!

prove that you are responsible enough to take care of something. That might do the trick. but if you are buying one, i recommend these things: supplies, every animal needs a bed, animal shampoo, toys (in case you are getting a puppy), dog food or puppy food, you might have a problem with teething, so a bone, a collar with a tag that has your info. (etc.) I hope that helps.

***** and whine.
Just kidding. It would be best if you found one in the streets, then brought it home. You could tell her that if you give it to the shelter they'll kill it. Have you seen Lady and the Tramp?

If you can't find a dog in the street, volunteer at a shelter, and offer to bring one home, then tell your mom they needed you to keep it for a while.

If you don't want to lie, buy a dog book, and read alot about dogs. Read up on them and try to figure out the best breed for you. If your mom sees that you are thinking alot about it, she should change her mind.

Better to persuade for GOD and not for DOG because, people in all most all the religions believe that the GOD can make us happy for ever and the DOG is a nuisance for all your visitors.
