My family has 4 dogs. One is a male, the rest are female. The male dog (Toby) "molested" one of the female dogs (Daphnie). After that, Daphnie started "molesting" a stuffed animal. Now, about 8 months later Toby (who is neutered) is "molesting" Daphnie again. My question, is now Daphnie tries to "molest" one of the other female dogs (Ginger). Is this normal?

They're trying to establish dominance within the pack. The female mounting and humping the stuffed animal was probably doing so out of frustration....unless she hasn't been spayed. If your dogs haven't been spayed and neutered, I suggest you get it done before you end up with puppies.

First of all they are not trying to "molest" your other dogs. They are trying to see who is going to be dominant in your herd. You need to establish your dominance as the alpha dog. You can do that through obedience training. Because you are giving the commands. Also by not letting them on the couch, bed etc. You need to be able to take away their toys, food, blankets. If you cannot do that. You have not established dominance. Anyway once you have established dominance, you need to correct the behavior of "humping" other dogs. Make them to get off the other dogs. You need to correct their behavior as the "Alfa dog". They will listen if you have established the order in the house. Good luck with the training!

This isn't "molesting", it is mounting. Mounting in dogs is used for mating and establishing hierachy. When a female dog mounts any other dog, it is dominance. She may even thrust with her hips, however she is not trying to mate. Males, depending on age, will mount other males and females to establish dominance. There is also, in puppies, "sex" play. Puppies need to learn how to mount and where to mount. If you watch puppies play, there is much mounting and posturing. These are play activities, and are nothing to worry about until the dog is sexually mature. Then, males will begin mounting to establish dominance and to mate.

Dominance - as you should be the dominant "dog", you should correct this behavior. When they start doing that (any of them) make them lie down and stand over top of them. Once you firmly establish yourself as the top dog, then no one else will try to exert dominance.

It's "weird," but it is normal. You just have to look at things from a dogs perspective. And most of a dogs "physical"
experiences, they don't usually forget. That doesn't mean you have to condone this act, but they "are" dogs, and sometimes they actually grow out of certain things, perhaps "this" will be one of those "things." (hopefully)
Good-luck

Dogs have no morals. If I were you I would get Daphne into an ex-gay brainwashing camp for dogs. I'm sure you Americans have one.

In males it is trying to breed. In females, it is a sign of dominance.

She's trying to show the other dogs that she is dominant. She's proving it to her stuffed animal, now it's their turn.

Yes. I used to have a Westie who was a little whore. She was continually trying to bonk the cushions on my settee.
