We've got 2 big lab-mix pups which also means we've got a lot of poo to deal with. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of it? We've tried a Doggie Dooley but it doesn't seem to work since our yard is mostly red clay that doesn't drain well. We live in a close neighborhood so I need some way to dispose of all the poo without odor or bugs.

I asked this question a while ago and got an answer, but I still need some help. I am looking for a Growth Rate Chart for a Golden Retriever, and I was told that they are in the book "Golden Retrievers for Dummies," but I have that book and can't find the chart. Can anyone tell me where in the book it is? Thanks!

went hiking with my 2 dogs today. afterwards found many small bugs crawling on their fur. Bathed them and washed away 75% of them but found some had burrowed into the skin around hair follicles. What are they? How do you treat them? Small, brownish, very smal like pepper on a plate. Thanks for your help!

I have heard the reasons why many are against this. "Watering down" the breed and increasing the risks for certain genetic disorders, but if someone chooses to buy a Cockapoo or a Poogle or even a Teacup Yorkie, who are we to insult them or put them down. I understand that these are mixed breed "mutts" or are considered a "genetic mutation" (not my words) but these people have the right to get whatever type of dog they want. Just as the rest of us do. I see people all the time where I live mixing wolves with Siberian Huskies or Malamutes. I personally think Huskies are wonderful on their own, but if someone wants a mixed Wolf/Husky dog, that is their choose, not mine. These people love their dogs just like the rest of us who have purebred dogs, and have the right to ask dog advice just like we do, without being insulted and called stupid for getting that type of dog. Why can't people just give them the advice they seek without the criticizing?

We've had her for 1 day, and the breeder told us to wait 3 weeks before we bathe him, but he really stinks. Would it be ok if we bathed him?

Hi!

So my husband brings home a 12 week old lab/hound mix puppy yesterday. I have never owned a dog, so I am kind of at a lost as to what may be wrong with it. We were in the kitchen and my puppy started to do this breathless coughing. I actually thought it was going to throw up. Then, I thought maybe he was choking. So I got on the floor and held him in my lap. I called to my husband and said, "I think he needs to go to the vet. When my husband came out, the puppy stopped coughing. Then he went to his bowl, ate some food for a minute, then went in the corner and peed on my floor.

He did not even try to hide it or anything. Is this normal for a puppy?

Was my puppy choking, just had hiccups or was he trying to vomit? And in all honesty, I have never heard him bark either. Do you think he is unable to? Do you think my puppy was barking (without sound).

Please... I could use any advice you have about puppies and raising them. Thanks!
