There is no superior breed. Goldens or Germans or Whatevers. It all depends on what you need in a dog. I prefer Golden Retrievers. And what's the point of your question anyway? Germans and Alsatians are the same thing; so what? Did you post this question just to brag on the fact that you knew that? I'm confused.

the wolf is the superior animal over the various breeds.
dogs have been breed for specific reasons, intelligence, strength, size or looks, each is an expert in it's own special circumstances, But each also suffers from some weakness.
Therefore, none can be considered superior in general.
Hitler thought there was some superiority in a breed, and the mutts of the world proved him wrong.

Would it surprise you if I told you that a GSD and an Alsatian are the same dog. GSD name was dropped during the First world war because anything German was offensive, then called Alsatian after Alsace in France, oh I could go on and on.

My favourite breeds are Shetland Collies, King Charles Spaniels & Jack Russells.
As you well know, Alsatians & German Shepherds are one & the same breed.

My dog Jake (or The General) was supposed to be a wee Jack Russel, I saw both parents, well someone was telling porkies because he has the bum and back legs of a Jack Russel, the head of one, a body like a long fat slug thing, and front legs without any leg below the elbow, just huge moley paws. But he is just about the best dog, loads and loads of attitude and personality and he loves me, so answer is any dog that you love and they love you back - they say the wag of a dogs tail is the one thing you can't buy .... tho' Jake can be bribed by vegemite on toast

I like lurchers. They can be described as 90mph couch potatoes. That would actually be a very accurate description of them. They are very loving creatures & make great family pets due to their naturally lazy behaviour. Take them out however & they just spring into life & run forever. They are in my opinion the best out of all dogs and I don't quite Know what I'd do without my two.

ha ha - they are the same breed.
But personally I love to watch a saluki run - absolute elegance.
I like to watch a labrador doze - just so peaceful.
There are different reasons why I like different breeds - probably why I have such a motley collection of dogs.
