We've got 2 big lab-mix pups which also means we've got a lot of poo to deal with. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of it? We've tried a Doggie Dooley but it doesn't seem to work since our yard is mostly red clay that doesn't drain well. We live in a close neighborhood so I need some way to dispose of all the poo without odor or bugs.

I forgot to add some things with my first post... I feed them Cannidae which is an EXCELLENT food. It's not that their pooping too much - just that I need something to do with what they are making. Also, our backyard is fenced in so when they go, it's always in the same relatively small area. Oh & we live in NC so it gets pretty warm which only adds to the nice scent the poo already has.
I've tried the "pick up with a bag as they go" idea but that leads to one stinky trash can by the time the weekly pick up comes around. This may be an impossible wish but I'm really looking for something that's easy to do outside and doesn't require me bringing the poo inside or letting it sit in a trash can to attract bugs and goodness only knows what else. To those who suggested burying it, do you just let it collect for a few days then dig a little hole for it? How long does it take to decompose? Does it tear up your yard or are you able to put the top back on the hole it was never there?

Good question. Just pick up the poo and throw it away in the garbage. Place the poo in a plastic ShopRite bag, or whatever grocery store plastic bag you have on handy and throw it in the trash. I agree with the above person that works for the vet, that good quality dog food can help eliminate that problem of too much poo. The better the brand of food, the less they have to s-h-i-t. Try Iams or Science Diet or Pedigree. They may be steep with price, but, the better quality of food for them, is going to be better for you and the less mess you would have to clean up. You would not want to eat crap, so why would you feed them anything less?

I just pick it up and flush it down the toilet, keeping it is not a good idea, like some people have suggested, as far as keeping it or burying it to let it decompose is just pure nasty, I think it's the nastiest thing to do.
I have trouble picking it up or dealing with it, I get a stomachache every time I do it, let alone leaving it to decompose , why keep it anywhere? that's what toilets were made for and you should keep your home free of odors and bacteria all in all, especially because you have grown pets.

I save up plastic shopping bags I get at stores and use them to pickup doo/poo. Since you have 2 large dogs, this should be done daily. I would use a bag for pickup and a second bag for deposit. When finished I would tie up the deposit bag, put it in the pickup bag, tie up the pickup bag, and throw them in the garbage.
All dogs need to be walked on led for at least 30 minutes a day. That is when my dog usually does his thing. Good exercise for your dogs and good exercise for you.
Watch "The Dog Whisperer" on TV to get a feel of the proper way to handle your dogs. Follow his advise and you and your dogs will be happier.

Get a nappy bucket with a lid and a cat poop shovel, put it in the bucket and add some water then flush it down your toilet.
I'm lucky, I've got a manhole cover for the sewer in my yard so I just use a crowbar to lift the lid and chuck it straight in the sewer!

You might look into feeding a raw diet. The poo becomes crumbly and doesnt hang around. If you give your dog a bone and they chew it alot you will get the same effect temporarily.

If you feed your pups good quality large breed puppy food then you will have less poo to deal with. And you should pick it up and place it in the trash can. This will help with controling roundworms, whipworms and hookworms that your dogs can have. Good luck.

Call your local city rep., and ask him/her what is the best way to get rid of it. We live in the country, and we just dig a hole and bury it. Good luck.

there became (key-word became) a pooper scooper regulation many years in the past, yet people particularly a lot ignore it now. in case you stay in a touch more beneficial extreme priced community, then you might want to favor to %. it up (only throw it interior the rubbish) with the aid of conceivable community association yet or you could only go away it on the backyard. (makes solid fertilizer!)
