Dogs - August 2006

I left my 3 month old puppy unattended for a few minutes in the kitchen, and came back to a brillo pad (the soapy variety) shredded all over the kitchen floor ... puppys face was covered in blue, together with his front paws ... that was about 3 hours ago and he looks fine and healthy to me, but could he have swallowed any of that? Would it get stuck in his intestines? Does anyone have any similar experience?

My best friends mother gets mad if people hold their puppy too much because she thinks that will spoil him. She keeps the puppy locked in the kitchen behind a gate all day. She won't let him sleep in the bedroom. She gets mad because the puppy doesn't listen like a human. Why does she feel the need to control her dog so much. I'm a lot more leniant on my puppy but she makes me wonder if I'm too soft. Is she to hard on her pup? Don't people gets dogs for companionship? To love?

My golden retriever puppy keeps barking when I put her in her cage. She wakes me up in the middle of the night. I tried putting a blanket over her cage but it dosent seem to work and I also have lots of toys and treats for her to play with but she keeps barking and I dont know what to do.

We are wanting a Boston Puppy we have found one in our area all you have is home breeder the one we found is great wonderful markings and such he is 4 weeks old .. My wife THINKS his eyes were blue... the breeder did not mention anything about them and we were just looking to find things about the dog and have happened up on this info.. We might like to stud him in a few years ..Will the eyes turn when he is older...

we moved to this house 10/30/05. i keep getting sick. i have 3 dogs and i gave two cats away. we had the air ducts cleaned out and i've shampooed the carpet alot. i take allergy medicine along with my other medicines. i can go out and be gone all day and come the next morning i wake up and its awful. i get to where i can't breath my nose stops up my head pounds and there is just certain smells that make me about way sick to my stomach

We have serched EVERYWHERE for moist puppy food (Science Diet) in something besides chicken. We prefer Science Diet but are considering Eukanuba since they seem to believe that puppys like cows too!!!

I just got a four month old puppy and everytime I leave the house even for a second she barks. Is there a way I can train her not to do this. I don't want her to wear one of those sonic collars or whatever they are called. I have to go to work this week and I am afriad the neighbors will complain if she wakes them up barking all morning.

I have a Papillon that is six months old and it seems his hair isn't growing and he also sheds a lot. Is this normal? How long does it usually take for its hair to grow out?

Is there a hypo-allergenic dog shampoo on the market? I think my dog's small scabs all over his skin are from either his shampoo I'm currently using (just some brand from Target) or it's from his summer allergies. But, he's on antihistamines for that. And he does not have fleas. Is there a shampoo anyone could recommend for him? He's a golden retriever.

ok i have another question , how often should i feed my 14 week old pup ? she will be 15 weeks on the 24th . i feed her 2x a day and i feed her 1 cup of puppy chow in the am and around dinner time which is around 5 pm and i feed her around 7 am . should i feed her more times with less amounts or should i feed her the same ?

its relly easy just count your figers, to give you a hint i dont have more than six dogs so just count on your fingers well it just be easer if you use your head

This link is to the local Maine news paper about this animal that has been killing dogs for years in maine. It was found dead. It has its picture. No one knows what this animal is. I think it looks like some type of Wild Boar crossed with a dog. I doubt thats possible..What is your guess on what this is?
