he does move his paws like he is running. He was attacked by something in the woods but no one ever saw what it was. He ran to the house and into the bathroom before I could get out to where he was. He has also barked at other dogs but never really had a 'fight'

Your Dog is having a NIGHTMARE,and it could be a number of things I had a dog that did that come to find out he had been mistreated and pass from home to home, he did not have a STABLE ENVIRONMENT, And so he was very Insecure and somewhat timid. Some person may think this is funny but I don't your dog needs to know he is LOVED and maybe you might want to rub/pet him/her while they are sleeping talk to your pet in a gentle tone letting them know it/things will be alright, animals can understand us and since when we are peace full people. Many animals when they do this in their sleep have experience some sort of dilemma. Example A FOSTER CHILD a child that has been pass about from home/family to home/family nothing reassuring about that. There are Foster Dogs out there. LOL not saying that your dog is but if you did not Raise your pet from a puppy when your pet was born you being first caregiver, then you never no what went on in their lives. HOPE ALL GOES WELL, AND PET BE OK.

Dogs dream: He dreams about ordering you around with his different little inflections of his barks, and you are bringing him a big plate of salami. Then he tells you that you are a good human and as a reward he takes you for a walk and yes you both go chasing after poor Hoppy.

He could be dreaming about anything. Seeing something pass by the house in his sleep, birds, squirrels, cats, anything!! My dog runs in her sleep. She sleeps on her side and all four legs are just running! I think she's trying to catch something! Your dog is probably just dreaming about something he normally barks at during the day!!

certain, he's probable only dreaming about chasing a cat or something, and barking at it. My canines do all of it the time. in addition they twitch and flow, and yip. not something to rigidity about in spite of the reality that.

I am sure he is just talking in his sleep. My dog makes the funniest barking sounds in her sleep.

No one really knows. People have yet to come up with a 'dream machine.'
