That would be the dachshund.
And, price depends on where you get one. If you adopt one from a local Humane Society, then you can expect adoption fees anywhere from $50 to $150.
Best idea would be try the internet.

The Dachshund breed has a couple of nicknames including sausage dog or wiener dog. Each breeder sets price based on location, lineage, desirable traits such as color, and a few other variables. If you shop long enough you may find Dachshunds priced from under $100 to over $1000. If you search for “Dachshund rescue” online, you may find a dog near you in need of a home. Usually the adoption fees generally run less than buying a puppy from a breeder.
Good luck!

When I lived in Germany, my neighbor has such a dog. He was named "Wasil".
Check the Dachshund rescue clubs and you might find a really nice dog for a low price.

dachshund. German in origin.
Dachs=badger
hund=dog
They were bred to have short legs so they could go in badger holes after their prey.
I would not want my beloved weiner dog to risk a thrashing by those nasty beasts, though.

It's called a dachshund.
it depends where you get it. the rule of thumb on pet shops is that the smaller, younger, and most popular breeds are the most expensive.
Adoption is always a good option! : )
GOOD LUCK! : )
