A few breeds have black lips. Poodles are probably the most popular. My white poodle has black lips. Chow-chows have totally black mouths.

i got a patterdale terrier which is black and so are her lips and a dalmation whith white lips so my conclusion is it depends on the breed

Most dogs have black paws (pads) too... I think it is because Dogs are black. My cats are black too.
