I know cats are known for being the ones that nap all the time, but I didn't think that dogs do. He's got a 5 year old black lab golden retriever mix. And also just out of curiosity, how long do these kinds of dogs normally live for?

2 years ago on Thanksgiving I was walking my dog when I saw a little thing running across the street. Came right to me, starved and filty. Weighed 9 pounds. Was a miniature poodle. Gave him like 12 baths before the white came back and pampered him until he came back to his real weight, 12 pounds (he is really tiny) Ive had Scruffy for about 2 years now but every time I reach down for him he cringes and flinches like i am going to beat him! When he does this I stroke his cheek with my hand and talk gently to him, pick him up and hold him close, talk very sothing but it doesnt seem to work he still flinches. I cant bother him while he is eating cuz he growls ( I have no reason to do so anyway) I am trying to show him as much love as possible. My question, Is there anything else i can do to make him feel safe and believe I would NEVER beat him?
Thanks in advance
Eddie

My boyfriend and I went to put gas in the car and came back, and my 5 month old is limping around, favoring one of his back legs. Is it possible that my 4 month old bit him too hard while playing, or what else could it be? My vet is closed but if it is still happening tomorrow, I will take him then. Thanks for your help

A few days ago, my dog was on the leash and took off running, snapping quickly against the leash and hurling himself backwards. I have since decided to get a harness because I don't want it to happen again.

Since then, he's been doing this hacking cough thing. It's not actual coughing; it sounds like he has something caught in his throat. It's the same sound he makes when he has eaten something like a leaf and hacks it back up.

I am taking him to the vet tomorrow to get microchipped and I'm definately going to ask her about it, but I'm going to worry. I didn't take him before because it was very mild, but it got worse today when he snagged his collar AGAIN despite my efforts to keep him from doing so. (It's not on him all the time, and I haven't been able to get a harness yet; tomorrow.)

Any suggestions or advice, or experiences? Thanks!

We have trained Penelope to pee on the pee mat when she is inside and on the grass when she is outside. Ideally it will all be outside once we move the mat closer to the door. However, she poos wherever the heck she wants! How do I get her to associate peeing/pooing with using the mat or outside?

I'm trying to build one for a friend and I cant figure out if its triggered by the dog when he touches the box or if the human standing behind the box triggers the release of the ball when the dog touches the box

I have heard that they are designer mutts, is that true? My cousin's have one and it seems like a good dog. I have a good size yard for a lab or a labradoodle to run and play in. I have all the things you would need for a Lab or a labradoodle. Just tell me what you think! Lab or Labradoodle? What do you think about labradoodles? Good dogs, mutts, whatever. Tell me what you think. Your answer really helps me!!! Thank you!! :)
