I have a 6 yr old black lab/bull mastif cross and he sleeps alot. Don't forget 1 dog year equals 7 people years, so the dog is 35 years old and starting to slow down. My dog has arthritis in it's rear and can be quite painful to move, so sleep is a pain free thing to do. Don't worry, as long as the dog is eating and drinking properly, he should be fine. If you are really concerned, take the dog to a vet for a complete check up.

I have had 5 dogs that live to be 14 and 16. I have a Yorkie Poo
that is 15 and is just as active a 6 year old. you have to take real care of them and they will live a long life. Yes, dogs do nap a lot and that is normal.

About 10 years, give or take, depending on weight, exercise or health problems. Sounds like he's getting older and needs more exercise/stimulation, to perk him up a bit. He isn't a puppy anymore, but has he been checked over by a vet in the last year? Just like people, they need an annual tune-up! Good Luck!

u need to give it some exercise so it will be more active during the day and not nap the whole day. you may want to bring him to a vet just to make sure everthing is ok. Good Luck!!!

They live for 11 - 15 years. I have a collie who lies around quite a lot, but the vet says that there is nothing wrong with her.
