Chihuahuas ears stand at different points. Sometime they stand from very early on and other times they stand and fall. I had one chi whose ears were still floppy at 6-9 months and even after a year they'd be floppy when he slept. Now they never flop. Be patient. Most chis will have ears that stand. It's fairly rare when they don't. The other poster is right that they may go back and forth as well. If they have/ or do even stand at any point, they will eventually. Most chis have erect ears by 6 months old though.

There are a few real keys to dog training, whether you are trying to train your dog to come when called, sit, stop barking or any other behavior. Understanding their importance is critical to achieving rapid results that are long lasting and help develop the bond between you and your dog. Read more here https://biturl.im/aU7EP
The first is simple; you must win your dogs mind. If you don't achieve this first then you will be struggling the all the way. When I talk about winning your dogs mind what I really mean is that your dog looks to you for all the decisions. Before you do anything else watch one of the amazing video sites that show you the 5 Golden rules to establishing yourself as the pack leader. If you aren't putting these in place then you are setting yourself up to fail. Just at the crucial point where you really want your dog to listen they will go and do their own thing. For sure your dog may play ball occasionally or even most of the time, you may even have a dog that is obedient 99% of the time, however if you want a dog who always listens to you and does as you ask then you need to win your dogs mind.
The second key to success is to motivate your dog. It is really important that you discover what it is that your dog enjoys both in terms of exercise and play but also in terms of a reward. If you can make the experience enjoyable then you will both achieve more and look forward to training.
Some dogs love to fetch, others love agility, and other dogs simply love obedience training, or swimming out into water and retrieve. At least to start with find out what your dogs love is and help them develop this, what I am saying is work with your dog. The other point to recognize is to make training enjoyable reward your dog.

My Chi is a sweet beautiful little 8 month old girl...stands only about 4 1/2 inches but she is long in stature so I think she may have a little weenie dog in her....her ears stand when alert but most of the time her ears are floppy....love her any less....not a chance....she is my darling and the happiest of pups and loves strangers and gets along well with my kids dogs which are all umpteen times bigger than her....so do I worry about the ears....no way....just enjoy and love....

Yikes! A chihuahua's ears are NOT meant to be cropped (surgically by a vet). So, don't listen to that other poster! It is entirely possible that your chi is mixed with another breed of dog. She may have another type of dog's genetics whose traits are for floppy ears. I know, you probably "bought" your chi from a breeder or pet store. That does not mean she's not mixed. Be glad if she is- mixed breeds are healthier and heartier dogs! Or, even if she is purebred, it's possible that it may take some time for them to become fully developed, or they may only be half-pricked at best. Be happy with your pup, regardless of what her ears look like. FYI- The AKC says this about chihuahua's ears: "Ears - Large, erect type ears, held more upright when alert, but flaring to the sides at a 45 degree angle when in repose, giving breadth between the ears."

Sometimes the ears will go up and down until they have finished teething and then they will stand up for good. Then again there are some chis whose ears never stand up. Are standing ears really so important to you? Would you love the chi less if the ears did not stand?

It's all simply a matter of personal preference. We have short hair and guys such as it. And i prefer a man with short hair over a man with long hair because long hair tends to make guys look also girly.
