Well, I'm no dog expert, but if there is no fence between the other dog and your dog, I'd say your pooch is screwed. I hope the other dog is not significantly larger than yours. But you have to think of it this way: dogs are not exactly like humans. You shouldn't call it raping because dogs don't understand the concept of rape. But anyways, if you don't think your dog can defend herself, you either have to keep her inside or trust that her fight or flight instincts will kick in if she finds herself in trouble.

Guess what? Unlike people, dogs don't 'rape' other dogs just for the fun of it. Unless your female is in heat, she's safe from the male dog. However, a great deal depends on how large the other dog is, and what breed it is. And what kind your dog is and how large (or small) it is.
Dogs with strong hunting instincts will attack and kill small dogs that are left to run loose. So, for a number of reasons (including the fact that you can't always tell when she is coming into heat before a male dog can tell she is coming into heat) it wouldn't be a great idea ato leave your dog outside and unattended.

I don't know I would try my best to keep her in the house when she goes into heat my female rottie would jump a 6ft.fence to go find some action when she was in heat !!! But the male dogs in your neighborhood can smell when she is on and they will try their best to get to her !!

It shouldn't happen unless she is in heat, altho I did see a mating between amale and female min pin a few years ago when she was NOT in heat. No pups came from the union because there were no eggs to fertilize.

she will be safe ALL the time if you spay her!! Don't leave an unspayed female outside without supervision....you are just asking for her to get pregnant by any mutt roaming the neighborhood. There are enough unwanted dogs in this world.

If the dog is not neutered and your dog is not spayed, then no, she's not safe. Well, she's safe until she goes into heat again...get her fixed before that happens!

Haha, "rape." I'd bet Nancy Grace would agree it should apply to dogs!
