Safely or unsafely? Unsafely, any dog "can" have a litter after every heat cycle until it dies or is too old. Safely, a small dog should not be bred until it is at least two years old, and never more than once a year. Breeding should stop if any complications arise during any pregnancy or if pregnancy ends in a section delivery, If mother abandons pups. At any rate you should not breed after the age of six or seven. I'm sorry, but the fact that you had to ask this question is reason for me to believe that you are not ready or knowledgeable enough to accept the responsibilities of breeding. Leave it to the experts.

Check with your vet...if you care about your dog, think seriously of having her spayed. There are enough dogs that don't have homes...and plenty of other ways to make money!
