Housebreaking?

Question

We have trained Penelope to pee on the pee mat when she is inside and on the grass when she is outside. Ideally it will all be outside once we move the mat closer to the door. However, she poos wherever the heck she wants! How do I get her to associate peeing/pooing with using the mat or outside?

I was having the same issue my new dog would pee outside and poo in the house.

Well I finally got fed up so the last time she poopped I set her nose really close to it(not in it) and said "bad, bad, girl" and put her in the kennel. For the last few days she has been waiting and doing both outdoors.

Just keep enforcing how upset she makes you when she does it and really congratulate her when she goes outdoors.

With repitition she should put 2 and 2 together in about 2-4weeks. Good Luck!

we never trained our dogs to use the bathroom inside because it confuses them and then they arent sure where to go. you didnt say how old penelope was,have you thought about crate training her at all? this worked well with our dogs because dogs wont poop or potty where they sleep. i would suggest you get rid of the mat and just train her to go outside.

get u a spray bottle with water in it and ever time is bark that u dont want it to spray it
