My English Mastiff has been in heat and bleeding for exactly 4 weeks. It was my understanding that the bleeding was suppose to cease after 2-3 weeks. While it has seemingly slowed down on a few days, it then starts up again at a considerable rate, and after 4 weeks, it seems like it's never going to end. Could this be a potential medical/hormonal problem, or is this amount of time for a dog to bleed not completely out of the ordinary? Please do not answer with "get her fixed", that in no way is an answer to the question I am asking.

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

9 month old Pit, and he's my first dog... he jumps the fence all the time, If It try to tie him he just breaks the collar... (he's even broken a chain leash!) He isn't mean, he's a big puddle of love, but even in my quiet little community I'm afraid he will get hit, or be misunderstood when he only wants to play. My husband was supposed to train him, but he's out to sea for a long while yet. What do I do?

I'm considering getting a dog what's the best type of dog to get. One that is loyal and is easy to train.

My dog Tasha fell during the night and she's paralyzed from the neck down. We put her on the couch and she's panting through her mouth really fast and I'm afraid she's going to have a heart-attack. She's 15, going to be 16 on October 3rd. We talked to the vet and he said that we should give her pain-relievers twice a day. Any help would be appreciated!

He is a little dog, a Shitzou, and he used to like to be indoors. Now he always wants to be outside.

While I was walking my dog I found a baby squirrel laying on the sidewalk near a tree. My thought was it fell out of the tree and/or got attacked by a bird or something. He was bleeding slightly possibly by his neck or under his arm. My mom put him in a small carrier cage with water and bird seed. What else should I feed it (don't know where to find acorns) and we are trying to find an animal rescue that won't euthanize it. In your opinion wht is th ebest thing to do with the squirrel right now?

I posted it in dogs cause I didn't think anyone would look in other pets.

She is one year old, a small swiss mountain dog (shorthair tri colored) just went thru her first heat last month... we live in NE Wisconsin and I am wondering if it is the allergy season? Or could she be allergic to something else? I don't think it is fleas or ticks or the two cats would have problems, also... any suggestions, ideas??? I will take her to the vet in a day or two if not better. she has suffered for a week already and it's getting worse.. her outside area of her mouth is pink now, too.. her eyes are runny and her eyes are bloodshot. I tried giving her Benadryl 30 mg (she weighs about 30 pounds)... please help if you have any ideas...

I am interested in buying a certified Mastif puppy and raising him as a guard dog and family member (I'm single). I just want to know some things that I might need to consider. This breed of dogs can grow very large but they are real sweethearts of a dog. Am I missing something?

biting her when it is obvious she does not like their attention? My 8-month old Golden Retriever hates it She is spayed so I know it's not her fault. She tries to get away. I end up having to push the other dogs off of her but they keep coming back at her. Shouldn't the other dogs' owners be the ones to stop it? I had to give her a bath when we got home because one of the dogs had some sort of gray mud all over his legs..
