It all depends on how you address the situation. The best way to let the dog get use to the fact of going outside. Personally I prefer to take the dogs out every hour or so and tell them to do "good boys/girls" when they do go award them with a treat. They will think it is all fun and games, and not realize that it's actually going to the bathroom.

It all depends on how you go about training her, how consistent you are and how old your puppy is.
The most sure-fire way to train a puppy is the one that requires some effort from the owners. You have to keep the puppy in the same room you're in so you can keep an eye on her. Take her out if she starts to look restless, wakes up from a nap, after a lot of playing, after a big drink. Get the puppy to go to the door with you (carry her if you're in a big hurry). You need to go outside with her and give her lots and lots of praise the split second she pees, then you go back in. This is so she'll learn that this is her time to go to the bathroom as opposed to just going out to play.
If you're totally consistent with this it shouldn't take long. I've had puppies trained (except for the odd accident) within 3 weeks. If she does have an accident, just clean it up quietly. The idea here is to give her over-the-top praise for doing the right thing, not correcting for mistakes. Dogs learn much better this way. Good luck with your puppy!

if you want to have sum1 train it 4 u then go 2 a local pet store...I think petco might do that stuff. Also if u want 2 do that urself then buy puppy pampers and when you put it on the floor place her on the diaper and let her smell and observe it.As soon as you see her poop or pee run to the pamper and she will get used 2 pottying on the pamper.i have 2 dogs and one is 4 years old now and when she was a puppy we had 2 do the same thing.then we recently got a chihuahua and we had 2 do that all over again it took 1 or 2 months 4 both the dogs so good luck.

I would say 6 - 8 weeks. My lab is now 6 and it seems so long ago. But I do remember it didn't take that long. Also are you crate training? Some dogs adapt better to that.
