I just went and got my first fosted dog. His name is Hogan and he is 5 yrs old with a few kinks we are gonna work out. i LOVE animals. my mom got a dog from the shelter. My other one came to us when it was abused before us, the poor thing was scratchedand dirty. so we cleaned him up and love him forever!!!

My husband and I have been fostering dogs for 8 years! You are correct that many come with a few "kinks", but that is their charm. There is no better feeling then watching them bloom in foster care & eventually being accepted into their new 'forever home' .. of course there are always a few happy tears when that time comes. Congratuations & Don't be afraid to ask for help when questions arise!

I have been doing rescue for 22 years and have fostered over 1000 animals since beginning :) I have my own petfinder site and opened my own rescue in 2002. It's the best and worst job in the world. I can't think of anything I'd rather do! Kudos to you for getting involved. I wish more people would :(

I've fostered stray cats until I moved to a new area. Thankfully, I was able to get most of them to a good home.
My next door neighbor works with the local Dalmation rescue in our area and fosters also.

i fostered a dog once and when it came time to let him go to his new family I couldn't let him go . I kept him
