she pees and poops on herself. I do not leave her in there long, no more than 3 hours at a time. She only does it during the day, not over night. I always take her out and make sure she goes before I put her in, and her feeding schedule has been adjusted accordingly. She has a very small crate, like she is supposed to (to fix this problem). Is this something she will grow out of? Is there something I can do to hasten it? She came from a bad home where the guy would leave her pent up all day and I think she was forced to go on herself.

We tried putting paper outside, no good. She is a 24 lb beagle, I cant pick her up tho (bad back), to put her outside when she is using the paper. Any suggestions??

Do you think those clothes looks cute on them? Or you think it's mean to put clothes on them? Or simply think that they do not need no clothes, they are cute as the way they are? Do you like to dress up your dog / puppy?

It is constant...he sucks on his paws until there is a giant wet spot wherever he is. It is all the time, and its loud and annoying.
Plus, he does it to a point sometimes to the point that he will limp.
Why does he do it, and how can i get him to stop?

I'm looking for any tips, tricks, or info in general. I'm curious to hear other people's stories, experiences, and advise. I'm a huge pet person, I've always had pets and we used to breed Akita's. I live in a apartment right now and not in a home, which is very different from the 7 acres we had. Give me your best advise, any suggestions or tricks of the trade is better than none. Thank You!!

I have a chihuahua, and whenever he barks, he always spins around in a circle while doing it. I'm not sure if he's mentally retarted, or if that's just what chiuhuahuas do. But I think i've seen other chihuahuas do that too. If you have a chihuahua and know why they do this, please tell me why.

Our dog is 9 years old, and twice now, maybe out of bordom, has chewed the vinyl siding off of around the front door, and has demolished a Chevy Blazer by chewing around the entire wheel well, ripping the mirror/houseing off and eating the mudflap. On another occasion he chewed aluminum trim off of another house. We live in the country, we have horses, cats...he has plenty to do but on occasion does things like this and my first thought is to get rid of him but my kids like him. Has anyone else experienced this destructive behavior and found out why?

Hello,
I took my dogs to the park, it was a brand new dog park with actual water for the dog to jump in. They had the grand opening the night before and I can imagine that there were just tons of dogs in the water. We didn't think about it at the time but our dogs don't have shots since they were from the breeder(yeah, stupid us) I have three of them that I took all the same breed and about the same size they are yorkie/ maltese mix. About 3 o'clock that afternoon, 2 hours after we got home from the park and I gave them all baths right away, my oldest dog started acting funny. He was shaking like crazy, we thought something had scared him, you know how little dogs shake when they are scared, even though my dog is small he usually never shakes when he is scared like most small dogs. But anyway, he has muscle tremors, and acting almost like he is choking but he is still breathing so I don't think he has something lodged in his throat, and he is lethargic, vomiting, and walks really slow almost like he is dizzy. and he wont eat or drink. This happened on sunday and I took him to the vet on Monday. The vet told me that he couldn;'t make a diagnosis because my dog was kind of acting normal because I had him out and he was excited but the only thing he was still had was muscle tremors. So the vet said it would be either allergies( which I don't think it is), or he could have gotten stung or bit by something, and the only way to find out what MIGHT be wrong is to do a blood test and so on. So i said I would take him home and watch him a few days and the doctor said if he gets worse of course call him. Oh yeah and then I remembered that the day before SAT. the dogs were at the groomers, also around a bunch of dogs and could be suseptible to disease. Well, I am writing you , now tuesday, and he is vomiting, and the dizzyness seems to have gotten worse because he just looks like he is staring off in to space and stands in corners and wobbles really bad and so I called the doctor this morning and he said that the only thing he can do is do those tests I mentioned above or take him to a 24 hour facility(hospital) and they can give him IV's and watch him over night. My question to you is just to get a second opinion on all of these signs and symptoms and if you have any clue what it it could be(parvo, valley fever, poison) or if you recommend that I take him to the hospital because it could be something possible fatal. Thank you for your time reading this I know it is long, I just want to give you all the details so you really think about what it could be. Again thanks and I hope to here from you soon. Alexis

I have had many wonderful pets in my life that have come and gone. Recently, we had a scare with our almost 13 year old husky, but fortunately he recooperated for now. The last pet I lost was my nine year old tabby cat, Lucy, who had to be put down due to cancer and numerous tumors last year. She was one of a kind. I've lost a few dogs, many barn cats, a few guinea pigs, and a rabbit also.

it's 102 outside today here in Dallas. everyday I go outside give my dog fresh ice water, wet him down, wet the whole patio, even wet the grass where I know he often lays. he also has dug this little dirt pile by the corner of the house. I wet that down to. two weeks ago I put an isolating fan out on the patio for him and he loves it. can you think of anything else I can do to make him feel more cool outside during this summer heat? any suggestions please? he's a little over 10 years old and he's currently a very healthy and happy older dog.

Okay, my dog is 9 years old and he's never been swimming. My other dog hated the water and so I just never took them. She just died and so I want to take my other dog to my neighbor's pond to swim with her dogs. He loves the bath tub and the water, so I think he will be fine. But the neighbor's dogs are good swimmers and may be too rough with him at first? I plan to go in the pond with him, but is there anything else I should do for my 9-year olds first swimming session?
