The first thing to remember about house training a puppy is there ability to hold themselves is limited. a rule of thumb is they can hold "it" usually 1 hour for each month of age. 2 month= 2 hours, 3 month= 3 hours, etc. when your puppy wakes up (morning, nap, whatever) the pup has to go, right then! take the pup out. when the pup eats or drinks, it has to go, take the pup out. after exercise (play), take the pup out. when the pup does it's thing outside praise it. a lot. tell the pup how good, how smart it is. you have to pay attention to the pups "looking for it's spot" behavior. when you see that behavior indoors, whisk the pup out. if you catch the pup in the act, simply tell it "NO!" and whisk it outside. if you find a puddle or pile after the fact, clean it up with an enzyme cleaner (pet food store) get a newspaper and hit.... yourself in the head and say "i should have been paying more attention" daytime training they get pretty fast. night time training is easier if you crate train the pup. also remember the one hour/one month rule. you will have to get up through the night to take the pup out. good luck.

First off, you don't put her in a crate as punishment...a stern NO is the punishment...then take her outside...she should be in the crate when you can't watch for signs of her needing to go....My favorite saying is: close all your doors (bath included)...tie your hands behind your back and wait until you have to go to the bathroom...Oh! by the way, no one is allowed to open any doors for you...get the point? If you can't see the signs that she needs to go because you are busy doing something, put her in a crate...she will whine when she needs to go...crate training is not an overnight house braking technique...putting the dog outside permanently, or not getting one at all, is the only way not to have ANY accidents in the house...that is why they are called accidents...keep rewarding her for going outside, and just use a stern NO when in the house...we have a Great Dane puppy 6 months and we have only had two poo accidents in the house...I just ignore the dog, and clean up the mess (it was my fault that the accident happened anyway...if I was watching him closer, it would not have happened.)
Keep with the crate training...this is how I do it, and I have had many of my puppies "house broken" at 13-14 weeks....I don't trust a dog fully until 1 yr, and then, they still stay in the crate at night and when we are gone...Why you ask?...picture this...your fire alarm goes off in you house in the middle of the night...Where is the dog?...mine is in the crate where I can just slip a leash on him...where is yours?

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aL17W
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

DONT shove his nostril into his poop. dogs don't sense 'embarrassed' the purely element you're displaying by technique of shoving his nostril right into a pile of poop is that you're an asshole. What you DO prefer to do is go out with him on a leash and stroll him round your backyard. praise him at the same time as he finally is going. Make a tremendous deal out of it. Like her basically received the international sequence. convey him outdoors each and every hour or 2. That way he don't have an threat to head interior. once you are able to, keep him on a leash interior so that you will comprehend if he tries to head interior. If he begins to head say NO and produce him outdoors in the present day. praise at the same time as he retains. Potty coaching takes staying power. Crate coaching helps for once you're literally not round.

Puppies usually have to go about 15 mins. after eating, drinking, sleeping and exercise/playing. Take the puppy outside and let him do his business. It may take a few minutes for him to do both (pee and poop). Dogs sniff around to find their spot to potty and if you see him doing this inside, get him outside quick. He'll soon learn and he'll either go to the door or try to get your attention when he has to go outside.
