we have a bulldog girl , who is 2 1/2 years old and has only come into season once , when she was 15 months old . We have noticed over the last few days when she passes urine, she has tiny pearly stones in her urine , could these stones be the problem with her seasons ,we have been to our vets but he dont seem concerned about it. Any help would be gratefull accepted .

Thanks in advance
Julie

One of my dogs nose is so dry its like sand paper. It is also discolored. She has plenty of water all day and is kept inside most of the day. Has anyone had this situation and what did you do? (Note: it doesn't appear to be painful for her)

I bought a beautiful 2 and a half month old pug (i live in China), and her nose is a little runny, nothing serious. Other than that she seems fine. Playful, alert, good appetite. Please let me know.

He is crying and trying with al his force to get to a female if he meets one now. If he is neutered, will he be indifferent to them, or will he still want to go near them and hump them, but he will just be steril?

I have a 6 month old Dapple Dachshund. He refuses to eat his dry AND wet puppy food. Yet, he attacks the dry cat food.

If I put up the cat food he wont eat AT ALL.

what should I do?

My boyfriend and I have wanted a puppy for many months and last night decided to purchase a gorgeous labrador/alaskan malamute cross. I understand that puppies cry loads when left alone and we want to teach him to cope with being on his own as we both work full time.
I have been in tears all morning as I am now wondering how WE are going to cope and if we made the right decision. He gets very upset when we leave and feel he will be a nightmare when left during the day.
I think I know deep down that we shouldnt have got him and that is what is making me upset - so my question is, do we stick it out, hoping he will adjust to being on his own - or try to take him back to who we purchased him from or rehoming centre- or any other suggestions?
Please only genuine answers.

My dog picks up an unbelievable number of ticks that require daily picking out. Does anyone know of an effective tick repellant that can be made from house-hold ingredients.

I haven't found commercial products such as Frontline to be that effective.

My lab has been biting off her hair on her haunches and the base of her tail for the past couple of days. It almost looks like she has hives or something on the skin where she has taken all of the hair off (bald spots). Any recommendations on how to get her to stop? Is anti-itch cream that humans use OK for dogs?

If you ask me ; pit bulls are mis understood & have a bad reputation . I used to work at the animal shelter down the street & we had a lot of pitts ; a lot of them had to be put down because of adoptions laws but a lot of them were really sweet & they were being killed because of their BREED . I think that it's terrible & that animals should be put to sleep based on their attitude & actions - not their breed . What are ya'lls opinions on Pitts ?
