I'd be careful what kind and how many rawhides and chewies you offer your dog. Though these things are an excellent way to prevent tooth decay and other mouth issues, the rawhides especially can swell in their stomachs and cause many problems if they have too many inside.

I suggest buying a Kong Ball (very cheap toy). You fill these with treats (your choice on what kind). Kongs are virtually indestructable and the only way for your dog to get the treat is if he plays with the ball (which will keep him active and entertained). Dogs love rawhides but a lot of it is out of boredom. You may find his desire for them lower if he's not so "bored".

Also, do not offer Greenies bones (the green ones shaped like a tooth brush). They have prooved these are made up of 25% undigestable materials and many dogs who receive these are needing emergency surgery to remove the undigestable materials.

Try the Imas ones that are shaped like this they are great chewies and good for there teeth as well.
You can try Enzadent chewies sold at most vet's they are a good price.
Just make sure that you know when and how much your puppy is getting each day as you should not overdo it. Also I would make sure it is something that is big enough for them to chew for a while and not swollow big peices of as this will cause more issues than not.

I have a 2 year old Yorkie and a 4 month old Boston Terrier (we call her our Boston Terrorist). We go through a lot of bones, but the ones that they seem to like are also the ones that last the longest. Buy a "compressed" rawhide bone or twist. It's typically darker in color than the white rawhide and also a little more expensive, but it doesn't come off in large pieces like the white rawhide and the dog has to chew harder to eat it. Both our babies love it!

I've heard that the greenies things that were recommended by the first person can cause a dog to choke really easily. There is a court case pending against the makers of that. I used to give my dog that but no more. He now gets the Dentastix and loves them...and they also help clean his teeth like Greenies and are much safer. =) You can get them either at the petstore or at a grocery store in the pet food aisle.

Cattle hooves or pigs ears. Rawhide is not digestible and no greenies. There is another bone similiar to nylabone I think Booda makes them that are cornstarch based that are also good.

my 11 month old yorkie,Sascha Franchesca Cleopatra loves cows ears. When the dog trainer first suggested them i thought it was gross, but she loves them and she is a big chewer. she can chew and swallow small pieces. they are totally digestable. also, the dog toys that are blue rubber made by "Petstages" are amazing. they are chewy and feel good on her teeth and gums and they are indestructable.

Do not ever give your dog those wood bones! They can do bad damage to the teeth and the gums! Thats what our vet told us to stop doing!

My pup loves nylabones, peanut butter rawhide, and greenies. If you get greenies, make sure they are the appropriate size for your pup.
