I was just wondering how many of you think that dogs hate dog food and would much rather prefur what we eat. I mean think about it if your where only offered just one stinking can of dog food everyday with some dry dog food for the rest of your life how would you feel? Do you people think that its possible for your dog to actually grow tired of it and starve to death. I have stopped feedin my dogs nothing but steak and mash potatoes and for breakfast eggs and bacon and for lunch a hamburger. Are these foods bad for them? Should I try a different type of food?

My son has autism, and is 6 years old. He would love a dog, but all of the pounds here have mostly pit bulls! Due to a bad experience with a friend when I was little, I don't want a pit.

I am looking for a small dog (preferably) for my son. I will pay! Please help with anything BESIDES PetFinder.com

We are in Connecticut.
Thanks!

I've taken my dog to the vet and they can't figure out what is wrong with my dog. Possible allergies. I'm going to be spending lots of money on this poor dog. She is my first dog ever and now I can't even breed her because she might pass on her skin problem. Should I sue the breeder? She told me I could trade her in for a new one! Yeah right she is a year old now.

My 6 yr old Italian Greyhound has been acting weird ever since my parents went away on vacation; so I'm the only person here with my dog.

For example, when I take her for her walk, she seems so anxious and antsy, looking around everywhere. Usually she just walks in a straight line like dogs normally do, but ever since my parents have been away (it's been 2 days), she's all over the place when she's walking. Also, she just lies down at the front door, which she has never done before. Is she depressed?

My dogs are a ten year old mutt (Sham) and a seven year old Saint Bernard (Dela). Sham is VERY over-weight while Dela barely holds her own. We exercise regularly but cannot get Sham's weight down. I tried switching to a leaner dog food and Dela's weight plummited. I also cannot get them to eat at regular meal times, they will ignore the bowls until they are ready to eat so it is hard to cut back on the amount Sham eats, because he'll just eat from Dela's bowl. I've tried to entice them to eat when I serve their food with VitaGravy and simular items, but they just like the good stuff off anf leave the food for later. They are on Beneful Dog Food right now, any advice on changes in diet that would help? I'll be asking a simular question in cats because my cats have the same problem. Thank you.

i have a 1 1/2 year old boston terrier, she doesnt have mites, but she does have a "skin condition". shes had a e-cone on for the better of 10 months. she scratchs her neck till she bleeds. she doesnt have any fur left on her neck. ive gone to 3 diffrent vets, spent close to a $1,000, and still she itches. does any one have any ideas? she has NO mites. ive gone through tons of diffrent vet pills, now im just giving her benadryl because i cant afford the $200 vet bill, to be told its a infection that they cant seem to clear up. PLEASE HELP ME! i feel so bad for my baby. (and she looks pethatic in the cone)

I have had a dog dye and a puppy. How do they know there dying. I think they know because you always find them in weird spots they never lay. It seems they want to be alone. my little bit wanted up with my husband and I could tell something was wrong with her that day. so i put her up there with him and come the morning the dog was in between the stove and the wall. she never ever laid there before.

He eats super fast as though he has never eaten before. Lately he has been throwing up after eating so fast and the puppy chow is still whole. I have seen suggestions of a puppy feeder toy - what is this? The vet says to increase the number of feedings and decrease the amount of food at each feeding. Any suggestions?

I know this question must be worn out but I have sucessfully potty train my chi who was crate trained to use a pee pee pad. My new pomeranian Prissy stays in a laundry room and uses her pad when in there, but when she comes out she runs to pee on the floor. I put her on the pad, give her a treat but it's not working. I also allow her only a small amount of space so she'll find her pee pad easy while out playing. Any advice from sucessful training, me and Prissy need some help!
