First of all, yes, those foods are BAD for your dog.
Mashed potatoes is not the best source of carbs for your dog. You should be feeding them rice or barley as they provide better nutrition.
Steak is beef. Dogs do not digest beef very well. Dogs should be feed primarily chicken if you want to ensure that they are absorbing enough protein. Chicken is the easiest protein for dogs to digest and that is why it is the primary meat source in most foods.
You should NEVER feed your dog bacon. First of all it is full of unwanted saturated fats. Second, dogs do not digest pork very well so you again are not providing your dog with a good source of protein.
Eggs are good for your dog but they are EXTREMELY high in protein and dogs do not require too much protein (compared to cats). So, when using eggs you need to balance it with grains and vegetables.
Last, NEVER give your dog hamburger. I don't know why people suggest this but hamburger has so much fat in it and like I said above, dogs can not digest beef very well.
IF you are going to feed your dog a home cooked meal, you better do your research first because if you go the route you are suggesting you are just going to kill your dog.
YOu've got to remember that dogs don't have the taste buds that we do. They use their sense of smell more to determine a good food. So when dogs turn up their nose at a food it is probably because they don't like the smell...of course the raw meat on the counter smells better.
If you feed a good quality food like Innova, Solid Gold, Evolve, Fromm, Merrick, Canidae, your dog will smell the fresh meat, grains and veggies in the food and won't get bored.
If you want a healthy dog, nutrition is something that should be taken seriously or you'll be visiting the vet a lot.

Well I've never had a dog that stopped eating their kibble. BUT, you can certainly re-create a more interesting, balanced diet for your dog with people food. However you should do some research and get some proper recipes to make sure your dog gets all the necessary nutrients and not too much bad stuff. There are dog meal recipe books out there. Then I would take the recipes and run them by your vet for a second opinion.

Most people feed their dogs kibble because it is easier than cooking for their dogs every day and is supposed to be (but isn't always) a balanced diet. My dog eats Canidae kibble and occasionally gets some leftover rice, meat, or vegetables. He seems to enjoy it. I don't think any healthy dog would allow themselves to starve to death because they don't like their kibble.
It is fine to feed your dog the same foods that you eat. But to keep it healthy (and more interesting) for everyone, include vegetables and vary the foods you serve so that you make sure that everyone is eating a balanced diet.

my dogs ( all 4 of them) eat dog food as well as regular food, they love people food, and eat just about everything I eat including meat, eggs, fruit , veg's etc... they are all very healthy, and the vet does not disapprove... nothing wrong with the food your giving them , but you could vary it a bit more if you like and add more foods to their menu, as long as you don't give them onions or dark chocolate, dogs are not entirely carnivores so will and should have a balanced diet which is why most people will recommend actual dog food...which theoretically is balanced for dogs... .. you could always offer them regular dog food but also give them the tasty food we eat and they love too..

If they aren't too full of spices, I don't see why not. there are high dollared dog foods marketed to be full of "people" foods...carrots, meat, etc..
I don't think they mind eating the same food each day. I only feed mine dry natural choice lamb/rice and give them snacks like fresh veggies, doggy biscuits, etc..
They never complain or stop eating. Never seen a dog stop eating their dog food...some are finicky, but will eat enough to survive even if they don't like it.
