I have looked all over online for signs of this, but have only found things regarding children or animal cruelty in general, nothing specific to animal molestation.

The other day, my friend told me something seemed "wrong" when she walked into her basement and saw her Father with his beloved dogs sitting on his lap. She said her Father seemed surprised to see her and looked uncomfortable or awkward. She said he had a blanket on his lap for the dogs to sit under and that she should have been ok with that, but for some reason, she had a weird feeling he was allowing the dogs to do something else under the blanket. My friend told me this and cannot explain why she feels this way at all. A few days later, she came to me again and said that one of those dogs had begun scooting her butt along the floor lately and she was worried that perhaps more had taken place. Now I'm worried. I told her she should take them in to the vet for a physical check up. Any obvious exterior signs to look for?

I rescued a boxer pup (well 1 year old) from euthanasia today, and am taking her to a rescue group tomorrow. But right now she is freaking the f*** out! Whining and hollering and yelping. I walked her until I was ready to drop, she is fed and went potty, she has toys and a chew bone....what can I do? Any safe medicine she can have that might be in my cupboard? I'm desperate.

Serious answers only!

She's a 1 year old bull mastiff. Is that spelled right? Anyway she rubs up on you like a cat and purrs and moves her head around like a cat. It's wierd.
If you have seen this before, or know why she does it let me know.

I have an 8 month old pomeranian and I just got out of an abusive relationship so, my living situation is not as nice for her as it used to be. I work and go to school from 8 am to 9 pm. I make an effort to come home about 2 times a day to walk and praise her. I am also getting her trained. while i am gone she is kept in a large crate with her toys, food,k water, and bed. Also anytime I have available i take her on car trips and take her to the pet store to play with toys. She seems happy...SHould I keep her?

I had wanted a puppy and my boyfriend who I live with bought me one. It costed $650.00 and now I feel like I'm not ready to handle it. He works during the day and I don't work so I have be with the puppy and I will have to train it. We just got it today and I feel like its a mistake. I don't know what to do. He's mad at me and I know that I won't mistreat him or anything but I'm scared.

I saw "My Scottish terrier is smarter than your honor student!" on a bumper sticker the other day, and I was wondering if it's really so true...

I've actually asked this question a few times before, but I still have lingering doubts on the crate training. My biggest concern has been crating my puppy overnight. Will she be able to hold it through the night? Since we've had her (two weeks), she pees and pooping while we're asleep, but at least she's paper trained and doesn't eat it.

Tonight, I am going to crate her in my room. I don't yet recognize her "cry" for needing to go to the bathroom, I'm afraid I'll just sleep through it. I took her out just now and she peed but not pooped. I'm concerned about the poop, she pooped after dinner, but usually needs to go one more time in the middle of the night.

Can she hold it until morning? Will I have to set my alarm for 3ish to take her out? Thank you for all the help in advance.

When I go to obedience lesson, my dog is extremely hard to control. Whenever she sees a dog she goes nuts, she never listens to me. I tried chokers but they don't work with her she just ignrores me. So I went to pinch collars. she listens to me then, but I worry that she might be to young for this ( she is 5 months old), but there is no other way to control her. Another thing. When I am at home, she does just fine. Since she is just 5 months old should I even be correcting her on obedience ( by obedience I mean correcter her when she does not sit on command, or doesn't turn quickly enough) using a chain or a pinch collar?

when she is excited when we are petting her or something she nibbles on things. she uses her front teeth and it almost looks like she is cold and her teeth are chattering. she does this to our hands and stuff too. it doesnt hurt because she doesnt really bite down sometimes her teeth might pinch us a little bit but its not like biting or anything. does anyone understand what im saying? and if you do why do dogs do this?

i recently got a puppy from my sister as an early birthday present. The breed of the dog is a mix miniture pinscher, hes the cutest dog ever, but his background is quite sad. You see the home that he used to live in was very abusive. They would kick him and pretty much make him really traumatize. So when he first came to live with us, he was very distant and a little scared. But then he started to warm up to us to. But the down side is that he wont stay in a certain spot. When hes sleeping and we leave he has to go with us. Or if we leave him in the back yard he starts whimpering and crying. But when we let him go back in the house he starts jumping on us and crying and barking and even peeing a little. Im serious. so what shuld i do? he also not house broken, which makes things even worse too. i also need a few tips for that as well. So if any of you guys can help me out, i appreciate it!

My puppy is 5 months old and I want to wait until November/December before I get her fixed. This way I can fully train her and enjoy the summer/fall.
Any thoughts on the timing?
