The dog we just got had tumors removed on her stomach around her nipples. The vet said to put poerixide on her staples to keep out the infection, but she is licking that area alot. Does perixide hurt a dog and if so will she get enough by licking the area to hurt her.

I just got my new pug. He is a year and half old, and is supposed to be housebroken. Today is the first day I had him. I've taken him outside several times, encouraging him to use the bathroom. All he does is run around the yard sniffing everything. After the last time I took him out, he came in and did one lap around the house and then peed in the floor. After that he hid in the corner of my brother's room and wouldn't come out. How do I take care of this problem, without being overly mean?

SMALL bichon frise is 1 1/2 year old male. rarely in public for walks as we have larger property for excersise. He is very highstrung to the point of having peed on strangers. Have tried to have him groomed. Not fancy, just shaved for sake of less visits. Have only tried like 3 or 4 times and he has not grown out of snapping and biting groomer and now we are at a loss at how to get him cut. The cage freaks him out and so do strangers. Any suggestions AT ALL???

The reason I ask is that I have two eskies. One is 13 now, and since she was a puppy she has never been able to catch anything, even if you throw it right at her, and even if it's food. She has had a lot of trouble going down stairs in the dark, and has barked at family members at night, I think because she can't see who they are. I got another eskie about a year ago, and she has the SAME problems!

Do most eskies have bad eyesight, or do only my eskies have bad eyesight?

He only picks at his dog food every once in a while. Although, if I put water on it, he scarfs it down like there is no tomorrow. Should I keep on putting water on it, or stop so I don't spoil him, and hope he starts eating?

my afghan hound is 10 years old and starting to be troubled with arthritis. i'm a nurse and so i know that arthritis is effective in relieving human arthritis pain... but i don't want to poison or overdose my dog. i'm thinking a children's aspirin might be ok. but not sure. don't tell me to see a vet ... that is NOT an option. i want to hear the experiences of others. and if there are any vets out there who care to share, please do! =D

our family maltese is trained to do her business outside and she always does. Now and again she will pee in my bedroom, sometimes even on the part of my bed where I sleep. It's not just a mishap because it's always in my spaces never in anybody elses room. Even now I have changed rooms and she does it in the new room. She was given to me as a puppy but she is actually very close to my parents she follows them everywhere sleeps in their room she's very attached to them, yet doesn't do it in their space ever. Why is this?

My dog likes to take daily trips down to the creek and then returns home as if nothing happens. All of my attempts of replacing and reinforcing the fence and adding concrete blocks (for digging) have failed.

Haha, My jack russell Gotti, cant grasp the idea of holding it. I walk him 3 times a day and feed him 2 times a day...He goes but for some reason he cant hold it when he's not walked. I dont know if its still because he is a puppy. He's 9 months. Jeez, he knows how to sit, lay, gimme five, roll over, chew my favorite stilettos! But he cant grasp the hold it part. I put him in his crate and am sloooowly seeing progress. When I let him out, he goes straight for the door. But 1 hour later....ugh forget it. I dont want him to live in his crate!! I've already used puppy pads and they dont work. Of course he goes right next to it. And I put a doggy diaper on him because he squirts when he's excited....It works but I change it constantly...lol...Anyone got ideas? I dont wanna get rid of him but i'm getting frustrated. He's so smart, a good watch dog, and very friendly....

I would love to get one, but they are never less than $1200.
Also, is there anything I need to know about them, having never had a bullie breed before?
