Git'Em is absolutely right -- anyone advertising a "teacup" breed of dog is an unethical moron.

The term is a marketing ploy created because, in American society, isn't everything that's already small just *that much cuter* if it's teensy? Therefore, not only is this Poodle a Toy Poodle (correct), but it's so small it could fit into a teacup -- therefore it must be a "teacup" Poodle (wrong)! Sheesh.

Please stay away from anyone offering "rare", "teacup", or "tiny" puppies. I can guarantee you that they know nothing about their breed beyond how much money they can make off them, which makes them worthless.

Toy Dogs are a group of purebreds designated as "Toy" by the AKC. They include the Toy Poodle and the Maltese.

Teacup is an invented word by people who try to breed these dogs even smaller than they were meant to be - often causing serious health problems.
