Yes you can catch a lot. First, dogs carry parasites and some can be very bad for humans. Next, consider where that mouth has been, licking himself and possibly other dogs private parts. Not to mention drinking out of the toilet, eating out of garbage cans....ugh
There is some nut that invented the thought that a humans mouth is dirtier than a dogs and so it's ok to let a dog lick you. Not so. Very wrong. Make sure you always wash your hands after touching any animal.

Yes. If you think about where your dog has been licking before touching your face (such as licking the garbage or toilet bowl), the bacteria from the dog's mouth will be transferred to your face or the food you are sharing with your dog. Also, dog mouth has a lot of bacteria already living in its mouth and because they don't brush their teeth, these bacteria multiply and get transferred to whatever they lick.

I don't believe so. I've always heard that dogs have very clean mouths. OK, true story. When I was a teenager I had problems with ingrown toenails. (ok this is gross) but my dog, who was a poodle would always lick my wounded toe and make it feel better. I seriously think he took some of the infection out and made it heal quicker. Sorry if that was too much information. Seems like your dog loves you alot if its kissing you so much!;)

Maybe, but I love my dogs like my children and can't deny them and myself the opportunity to share our love and affection for one another. Nope! I won't give up my puppy kisses!
If you think about all of the germs that you're exposed to on a daily basis and when we eat at fast food restaurants and all-you-can-eat buffets. I'm sure we've all ingested some nasty stuff there. Well, you get my drift. I think you will be o.k. with a few licks and your dog will be too.

A dogs mouth is a lot warmer than that of a human or cat etc. So they have less germs. You cannot get worms or anything like that.....but you know they are always licking thier junk & eating cat crap. On the other hand, it means they love you.

I never did.
I used to let my dog lick my face a lot, and I would share my ice cream cones with him (one lick for me, one for him...), and nothing bad EVER happened to me.
In fact, I had a rash on my foot that would NOT go away, no matter what I put on it. I tried all kinds of things.
Once I got the dog, he liked to lick the top of my foot (WHY, I do not know...). I would let him do it, as I really did not care. The rash went away.

Oh dear god - Dogs mouths are NOT cleaner than ours! I worked as a vet assistant and laughed about this. Dogs eat there own poop and vomit, lick themselves, eat and roll in dead things - and you want to let it lick your face??? Ewww....
I have 4 dogs but would NEVER risk that kiss!
Also if your dog isnt up to date on shots or medication - you could get worms!!

It is possible but if your puppy is healthy, not probable.
There are lots of diseases that can be transmitted from dogs to humans. The usual route is fecal/oral or urine/oral. So, if your dog is sick with something like giardia, leptosporisis, salmonella, hookworm, or roundworm, licks their privates -then licks you in the mouth. Well, you can see where this is going.

i'm not sure but i do know that dog saliva has things that either kill or like disable the bacteria. it's recommended that you wash your face or your hands if it's licked by a dog so i guess it does harm humans

actually dogs have cleaner mouths than humans. its true. a dog has to have a lot of germ killing bacteria in its mouth because of the stuff it does, cleaning itself regularly and also licking its privates keeps them clean and germ free. so your actually safer kissin a dog than another person.
