The dog we just got had tumors removed on her stomach around her nipples. The vet said to put poerixide on her staples to keep out the infection, but she is licking that area alot. Does perixide hurt a dog and if so will she get enough by licking the area to hurt her.

Sometimes peroxide can make them vomit, but hopefully she won't ingest enough of it from her wound to cause her to do that. If you're concerned about it, take her for a short walk just after putting it on. That way, it will soak in while she's occupied with her walk, and when you get back it won't still be on the surface for her to lick. Keep the walk fairly brief, though, because her activity should be pretty limited after having surgery.

The best thing at this stage is to put one of those cap around her neck so she won't lick the staples. The more she licks the more the stitches will take to be healed. And this way you can apply the medicine without worries.

My dog had one of those around her neck and the stitches healed in a couple of weeks.

Peroxide is actually used to make them vomit. I would say use a triple antibiotic on the staples so they don't get infected. If she is still licking a lot you may need to get her an e-collar to keep her from licking.

No the peroxide will not harm her because there isnt enough on her skin. She is licking because it is sore. Here is something to try. Put a t-shirt on her so she can't get to the peroxide.

3% Hydrogen peroxide (H202) straight is used to induce vomiting. But, you have to give them a goodly amount (small dog 10 - 15ml every 10 minutes to induce vomiting) But, once it foams (releases the extra oxygen molecule) it becomes water. So, it won't hurt her.
