people bought house next to ours walk there dog on our lawn we told them not to but they keep doing it my wife bag-ed up some poop brought it to their house knocked on door, they opened she dumped it on the floor cops came told them it was theirs and would arrest them for littering if it happened again.dog poop on our lawn.

cities like New York and Chicago have very strict laws about this and the violators are fined heavily. i dont think this kind of watchdog (forgive the paronomasia) law would work in areas other than cities though, b/c there isnt large enough police forces in smaller communities.
maybe if you know the person who's dog is doing this you could pick it up with a scooper and take it over to their yard. if everyone who was finding that person's pup's poo in on their yard did that the offender's yard would be piled high with feces!
maybe then they would fix the problem. (BTW take pics of the dog doing it, so you have proof it was their dog.

If it's on your lawn, you can set up a sprinkler with a motion sensor, and they get sprayed if they go on your lawn. Or you can sit in the front yard with a BB-gun. Or you can put up a sign that says the lawn has been sprayed with chemicals known to kill dogs that step on the lawn.
If it's not on your lawn, I suggest you go somewhere else, because it's completely out of your control.
