Jealousy. She sees your parents as the alpha male and female. You are both betas or siblings in her eyes. She wants you to be a gamma.

It sounds like dominance behaviour, she doesn't accept that you have the right to your own bed and she is claiming it as her territory.
To fix the problem you would need to demote her to below you in the family hierarchy; but this would involve the co-operation of everyone in your family.
For the next 2 months they would virtually ignore her and you would take over her care; feed her, walk her, brush her every day.
When you walk her you walk through the door first; when you feed her you ask her to sit. It will work but only if everyone co-operates, and many dog owners just can't ignore their pet.
But thats the problem; the alpha member of the family (probably Dad) makes a big fuss of the dog and raises her status in the family pack!
Keep your bedroom door shut, or get a child safety gate across the door. And put your shoes away because she might start chewing them if she can't pee on your bed!

Maltese are able to sense the moods and ailments of their owners very well. I own two of them and my youngest one is so tuned in to me that she can tell when I am even a little bit put off by something. she will try to get as close to me as she can possibly get and try to make it better by showing me as much love as possible. Your Malty may be sensing some negativity between you and your parents and so she is showing you disrespect as a result.
In Malta where the maltese originated these dogs were known as nurse dogs - since they were very good at sensing when someone was in distress or ill.

I have 3 little Maltese and I used to breed them, they are very jealous dogs my three are mother daughter and father.
They will mark their territory , and will move others out of the way to be the one closes to you and given a chance all of mine will go pee in my bedroom.
But aren't they just the lovely cutest little things.

She shows respect to your parents. But she is not to you.
She should never be allowed to be in any room that you can not watch her in.
She is showing you that she is top dog and does not have to take any type of orders from you.
You need to train with this dog some so she learns you are the boss and she is not.
Good luck.

she thinks she is the alpha(leader) of the "pack"(you, her etc.). you need to train her so she knows that you are the alpha. you can get information on dog training on the internet.
