I was just talking this over with Wolfgang, my cat, this morning. I'd say that since liberals--until the Bush administration drove large numbers of people further left--live in apartments and in cities, they tend to be cat owners.

Wolfgang's opinion is that dogs are great, snarly, smelly beasts. He was shocked to learn that people think they "own" them--or cats.

Having learned that, he's decided that since his Mum, Silver, is highly intelligent, and since he knows that intelligent people are liberal, most cat owners are liberal.

Not bad reasoning for a lowly animal, eh?

What do you think?

Hey people, I would like to ask your advice on something. There's this cat that keeps coming near my house door during the night or early dawn and stands outside and keeps meowing. This has already happened two days in a row. When I open the door, it stares right at me aggressively and keeps meowing! What does it want? Btw, sometimes another cat will appear along with it and according to my mother, the cats fought at times.

he's not neutered yet. he has sort of live in my neighbours house that has lots of other cat, as if he has a new family there, with him being the leader.

after 1 month of not coming back to home, i decided enough is enough, so i go and catch him and want to neuter him straight away, and keep him in.

do you think it's fair i do that? will he be affected or rebel now that he no longer living with his new comfortable place?

is it fair that i don't want to let him roam anymore.

he's 2 and a half years old.

will he be ok?

My 2 year old cat has an obsessive grooming problem. He also has intermittent twitching in his hind legs and shoulders sometimes. I think it may be related to stress but my vet wanted to rule out allergies first (he wants to avoid putting him on prozac). So he got a long acting depo shot about two weeks ago. It has curbed the grooming somewhat and he has some peach fuzz starting to grow in on his belly. It hasn’t really helped the twitching and he has a noticeable lump in between his shoulder blades where he received the shot. Is this how the shot works? Does it stay under the skin as it slowly releases, or is this something I should be concerned about? Normally we’d be at the vet already, but it’s so stressful for him to drag him there if it’s not really a problem. Any info?

How on earth do i get rid of them???
I have tried loads of Bob Martin treatments for the house, and the cats, but they have not worked!!
Do i need to get the expensive stuff from the vets ( i dont mind the cost if it will work).?
also, someone told me that if i treat the cats, that i dont have to treat the house, as the fleas will jump on the cats, therefore absorbing the stuff that kills them..is this true??
Many thanks!

hello there my name is Charlotte and my cat is called Siouxsie (susie), 2 months ago i noticed her behaviour change because normally she is the devil cat, she is very tempremental with certain people and im the only one she really likes, but her behaivior has changed from attacking people to wanting to cuddle them and lick them and generally be sweet, obviously i welcome this change, but then i noticed around the same time a couple of her nipples were pink and i asked my mum what she thought and she said she could be pregnant, she is coming up for two years old but she is the size of a 9month old kitten, i am worried about weither she is too small.
the most recent thing that has changed is her nipples arnt as pink, but she is quite big around the tummy, not outwards but on the underside. she also demands food all the time, ive been feeding her a mix of adult and kitten food, she is due christmas eve so about 2 weeks away but she isnt as big as some websites suggest, serious advice only

My cat has been gone for about 10 days now. I have "heard" that cats can go away, then come back weeks later. Is this just something "people say"? Has anyone ever had a cat return home after days of being gone??

I was gone all weekend to stay with my mom cause she needs help since she had surgery on her brain.

When i came back home my cat was laying in the middle of my tree. It broke the branches down. There was no way i could fix it.
It was a pre-lit tree so see the branches are already all together you don't just put the branches in yourself.

What would you do?
I had to throw that tree away, i do not have one up yet...Would you do without a tree for a cat that you love? Or get rid of it?

My cat (Zali) won't eat her food. She used to be a stray until we rescued her from starvation. The problem is, we give her nice cat food from the vet, be she just won't eat it or just eat a little bit. We've tried different foods and she reacts the same with every type (tinned, dry etc.). What is strange though is that she always acts hungry but when her food is put down she only eats a tiny bit. I have tried talking about it with my mother but all she says is that Zali will be fine and there is no problem. Zali is getting seriously thin, and I'm worried about her but she acts happy all the time which is also strange. She goes outside quite often and she catches mice which might be the reason she won't eat. What is wrong with my cat?

Is it okay to just quit feeding my cats canned food? They eat dry food as well but I just recently heard that canned food is bad for them but I would feel bad just taking it away. Is it okay or is that just some b/s?

I know beyond a doubt that my cat has tapeworms. My other stray I took in was neutered about a week ago and they treated him so I have checked the other animal sin the household and found that one other has tapeworms also. The fleas are taken care of I spent the money and got Advantage to treat them, but now the vet wants to charge me again to see the animal and I do not have the money for that. I barely have the money to buy these pills. petmeds.com has:

Cestex 12.5mg Tab
Drontal
Droncit
Another type that says:
FDA approved praziquantel for over the counter sales, no prescription required, for the removal of common tapeworms.

I need to know
A. Which one is best?
B. Do you treat them once and it is expected to be ok after that, or is it an ongoing process.
C. Are there any places such as Humane Society, etc that will give meds with or without seeing animal at a discounted rate etc? I am in Indiana.

Thanks. Please only people whom know the answer.

I am naming over 1000 cats next year and I am about 950 names short.

I am setting up a database for the info on the microchips.

This is for a shelter that nurtures, fixes, and serves as an adoption center, that microchips all adoptions.

Please give me some original names like;

"Pamuk" which is Turkish for cotton

There are too many "Garfields" and "Snowballs" don't you think?

My 5 little kittens that are 6 weeks old wont stop poohing and weeing all over the floor, their litter box is in the same room as them and we are constantly putting them in there so they try and get used to it. Sometimes they do there thing in the box but its almost as if they do it in there when they want to. Last night i saw one of them was just about to go to the toilet on the floor so i quickly put her in the litter box and she walked out and went for a pee on the carpet. This morning i got up to find 5 poohs around the lounge and one right beside the litter box. I dont know what to do anymore. My partner and i are going away in 6 days for 2 weeks and we are getting friends to look after the kittens, i dont want them to be constantly cleaning up after the kittens. Any advice
