he's not neutered yet. he has sort of live in my neighbours house that has lots of other cat, as if he has a new family there, with him being the leader.

after 1 month of not coming back to home, i decided enough is enough, so i go and catch him and want to neuter him straight away, and keep him in.

do you think it's fair i do that? will he be affected or rebel now that he no longer living with his new comfortable place?

is it fair that i don't want to let him roam anymore.

he's 2 and a half years old.

will he be ok?

You would be doing him a big favor by neutering him and keeping him indoors. It is safer for him and neutering him will calm him down. I have 2 male cats that were born ferrel and they do just fine. They don't even act like they care if they ever see outside. Is there any way you can get a 2nd cat? Some cats like to be loners but yours sounds a little more social. Make sure he has toys to play with also. In time he'll forget about the other place.

Definitely get him neutered. If he's happy living in the other place and your neighbor doesn't care, you can take him to visit. It's best not to let him roam. I don't believe in letting cats be outside.

You'll be okay, and think about it this way, if he can't have kittens, there will be no unwanted animals, there are so many unwanted animals its so sad. You'll be helping the world. It's good that you dont want to let him roam, just take him outside the backyard and watch him, and remember lettting cats roam can lead to feline aids for your tom cat, and other diseaes, so yes it is fair, hope this helps

Your Cat shold be neutered so he keeps the population of other kittens down. Plus, he will be fine. I have a boy cat (whom is neutered) and a Female cat (whom is spayed) they are as happy as can be and love each other very much! Remember, he is a cat and you can give him all the love he needs. Plus, he should stay indoors, so nothing happens to him, such as a car hitting him. So please don't feel guilty. neuter him and love him.

Your cat will be fine with the neutering. He may still go next door to "visit".

yeah get himnetured he will be fine. He may not be anymore loving but he wont stray or go off. My mum had her male cat netured he was out all night now he hardly goes out he isnt anymore loving but he wont be fathering anymore kittens which is maybe a good thing as they could be unwated kittys and people may not want them. Good Luck

I think he should be neutered yes...otherwise he'll go around fathering lots of kittens and some will be not looked after.
