She now hides when anyone walks into a room, she wont come up on me anymore. In the shelter she would head butt and nest on me and my 5 year old. now shes like a completely different cat. I know she was found outside and then was in the shelter caged up for 3 months. Is there anything i can do to bring out the sweet girl i know is in there? Ive had her one week.

I have 5 white persian kittens I got the mom from a "cattery closeout" (mom was pregnant with them) well all of them came down with ringworm.. apparently the mom is the carrier. (which I know she must have had when I got her)my vet gave me tresaderm drops and Dermazole shampoo.. she said start with this then maybe the oral treatments if that doesnt work then basically she said people do put them to sleep.. I am all upset now. I thought ringworm can be cured. I have looked all over on here and dont see people putting them to sleep because of ringworm. They dont put people to sleep if they have it.. Just looking for any more info I can get on this. thanks.

For the last 3 years, my cat has crapped everywhere: in addition to inside her litter box, I have found piles on the stairs, next to her litter box, on the bathmat, in closets, under my bed, IN my bed, on doormats, inside the laundry hamper (with freshly laundered clothes), IN my daughters bed. I have tried everything: Yes, I keep the cat box clean-- I even have another one for her. I have even tried to keep her out of certain rooms by closing the doors-- only to find a pile on the stairs. She is 10 years old and I feed her Iams adult dry food-- always have. I have had her for 9 years. I am at my wits end now and I am out of ideas. Is it unethical to have her put to sleep for this? If so, then do you have other suggestions? I love her very much and I don't know what to do.

I live in an open plan house, the only rooms which have doors are the bedrooms and the bathroom. In the night, my cat comes and scratches at my bedroom door all night to be let in. He has now learnt to bang the door as well. I've tried putting Pet Behave spray down, foil outside the door, I ignore him, I shout at him - nothing works. If I let him in he constantly pats my head and meows. I'm getting no sleep. I got three hours last night. Please help!

I filled out the application and asked me other pets I have at home and if they're neutered or not and I put down I have a only one dog - a female Chihuahua that is not neutered. They wouldn't allow me to adopt a female Siamese kitten!! I understand and agree that people should fix their pets in order to avoid reproducing but what?? A chihuahua and a cat are not going to reproduce!! Anyone else find this ridiculous? How does the animal shelter expect people to adopt their pets with these rules?

We haven't left the house for more than a day in over three years because we can't figure out what to do with our cats while we're gone! I'm afraid boarding them will be traumatic and I don't know of any pet sitters. The indoor cats would probably fine but we have an indoor/outdoor who I'm afraid would go nuts if confined for any amount of time. What do you guys do?

They were struggling, so it was hard to get it in exactly the right place. I'll call the vet tomorrow, but meanwhile, does anyone know just how toxic it is? (We rarely use the spot treatments. Most months we manage with natural treatments as a deterrent, but we have so many cats that when we see fleas we must take action immediately.)

IN reading this article, does anyone know what the dosing of Prednisolone would be??

A wide variation of treatments have been applied in cases of eosinophilic granuloma, reflecting the lack of any one uniformly successful treatment, and the unsatisfactory outcome of treatment in many patients. It would seem that the most successful approach is a four to six week course of the steroid prednisolone. This may resolve the lesion, but, if not, it may be followed by cryosurgery - a double cycle of controlled freezing and thawing. Although this inevitably leads to some scarring, recurrence seems less frequent than with other methods of treatment. In some cases Ovarid has also been used successfully. Whatever treatment is used, recurrence is common and the treatment may have to be repeated.

I just found a kitten and on the front paw the fur is coming off. Like as if it was a sunburn on a human. It is also starting to do the same on the back paw, too. The Craw itself does not appear to be hurting her. What should I do about treating it, I can not afford to pay a vet bill and my kid has grown attach to her?

'Taste of the wild' is the new product through Diamond, which makes me a little hesitant....BUT it IS grain free which is something I've been looking for. I dont have alot of choices in my area. Heres the link:

'Felidae' Just would like to get away from the grains.
Heres the link:

Am also curious which one would be better for cat prone to urinary problems. I feed him only canned BUT he does sneak some dry every chance he gets...

Thanks!

Hi, My cats dislike wetfood that is cold from the refrigerator. Do you have any tips on how to make it room temperature fast and easy? Any special products for catfood storage/reheating? The dripping hot water on the food does not work for me cause it gets to runny

His eyes aren't seeping like some sick cat's eyes do, but I'm worried about him. I can not afford to take him to the vet unless it's an emergency. Does any one know if it might be alergies or something? Thanks.
