Siegfred and Roy. They still have a showcase in Vegas, but Roy didn't recover very much. They had to fire all their staff and the tiger is taken care of. I don't remember the hotel, but it is across from the Venetian where we stayed last year.

This site gives the info on Roys mauling by montecore. The tiger is still alive, and is likely to remain so, and neither siegfried or roy are likely to return to the stage anytime soon.

Sigfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn and they're German, not American. They had a circus show in Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA. They are commonly known as Sigfried and Roy.
With that information you can do a better Internet search.

I guess this was in the US?
I have a love affair with tigers - the Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire can arrange for you to hand-feed their big cats (it will cost you!!! Insurance is high) and I was able to stroke one at the blunt end.
