Hi, My cats dislike wetfood that is cold from the refrigerator. Do you have any tips on how to make it room temperature fast and easy? Any special products for catfood storage/reheating? The dripping hot water on the food does not work for me cause it gets to runny

I use both a raw meat diet that I prepare and thaw for my cats and canned food. They have the canned in the morning and usually finish it up. I may open another can during the day. I always put it in a pyrex dish and just keep it in the cupboard. If it is used up within a twelve-hour period it won't "spoil". Don't leave it in the can though as it can get an off taste once the can is open.

The raw food needs to be warmed, though it's thawed it is still cold. So I boil some water in a hot pot and put it in a saucepan and put the dish in it for a few minutes and stir it around till it is all warmed.

Take the food out of the can and put it in a plastic baggie or other plastic sealable container.

Run the container under hot water for a bit until it reaches room temp. The smaller the amount of food, the faster that will work.

Or nuke it in the container or baggie for 2-3 seconds. Normally we don't recommend nuking food because it kills nutrients but since you're already dealing with commercial food and because of the very short time period, it shouldn't be a big deal.

You can spoon it onto a plate and place it in the microwave uncovered. It shouldn't take more than 20 seconds or so.

After that is done, just leave it in the microwave for a couple of minutes, the heat will distribute itself naturally and uniformly.

Feed.

I prefer regular plates over plastic pet food ware. I find that cheese plates and other smallish plates work very well and are easy to put into the dishwasher for thorough cleaning. I like small condiment bowls for kibble.

I water it down a touch and then just put it in the microwave for up to a minute (depending on how cold it is)

If you don't want to face the Smell that comes out of the microwave (it can be bad) then you can put the can in a dish and pour hot water around it so that it warms graduly in the water.

I don't know what else to tell you...

I hope this works for you!

Place the food in a deeper dish and, set it in hot water for a few minuets, give it a little stir and test it with your finger- it only needs to be room temp.
Be very very careful not to use a microwave -because they make 'hot spots' that are easy to miss.

For my old cat, I put some in a microwave container, add a few drops of water, and nuke it for 5-7 second intervals. Stir in between.
