i've been taking care of these 2 cats for a week now. but i've started to get really itchy. i have like a rash on my chest, random spots on my stomach, and on my left outer thigh. i noticed when i'd go to my friend's house (their owner) i'd feel itchy as well. i don't think they're fleas because cats are indoor cats and she's never had a problem (as far as i know). when i'm in my car or my bedroom (never let them in there), i'm alright, but after being near them or having them in the same room as me for a while. i have to make them leave the room, because i get itchy!!! i've had fleas bites before when i was little and played outside alot. do you think its the hair or fleas?! and what can i do? :(

iv discovered little black grains right next to his skin, of what look like grains of sand, are these flea eggs? iv not found any fleas, my other cat doesnt have fleas and my kitten has never been outside. i assume he must have brought them with him from where i brought him.
if these are flea eggs is it safe to use the spot on treatment? i use this for my older cat.

I loved this cat, she had the same routine every morning when I woke and followed me to the kitchen to get feed. She was a very happy cat. My other cat was very close to her too.
One morning last week I woke up and she was not at my beside as usual. She was in the living room and lifted her head slowly. She seemed very sick. She did not come out to the kitchen all day to eat or drink. I was not sure what was wrong with her so I took her to the vet. At the vet she was checked and they said she had diabetes. They said she had hope if I gave her treatment, but they said the treatment would be very costly. I asked if there was any other way. They said they could do some calling to see if someone could adopt her. When they came back they said there was no one who could take her in. It took a while but I decided to put her to sleep. It was tough making this decision because I loved this cat and I felt bad. Almost a week has passed and I still havent really gotton over it yet.

I discovered this when I got her, 9 years ago when she was 12 weeks old.. She was not well socialized, and hid under the bed for three days. I needed to catch her, and grabbed her by the scruff. (No lectures--I have never failed to support her weight with my other hand when I picked her up by the scruff, even when she was smaller.) I put her on my lap, and she jumped off and ran away. Then she came back and sat at my feed, so I grabbed her by the scruff and put her on my lap. She jumped off. This went on 7 or 8 times until I realized she liked it!

So now when I want her to calm down, I sit her in my lap and pull on her scruff just enough to take her most of her weight off her front legs. She purrs.

Now, i know kittens have something like at automatic reflex that causes them to relax and curl up when picked up by the scruff by their mothers. My cat also relaxes and curls when picked up that way.

Does the fact that she likes this make her abnormal, or are all cats that way?

My cats seem to be chasing down alot of flies and moths which is perfectly understandable. But then they just gobble them up like a tasty treat. Is that normal/healthy? Does it indicate some deficiency in their diets or is insect gobbling normal cat behavior?

Fel-O-Vax to be specific. My cat has sort of a oval shaped lump under her skin on her neck/shoulder. She got her shot about a week ago.

He will hop into my lap or I will be holding him and he is purring and really happy. Then he will try and climb up me like I have no feelings at all using his claws like I'm a tree still purring. It's very annoying and I want to cuddle with him and pet him but it hurts when I'm being climbed. It's sad because when he jumps into my lap I push him away because I don't want to be clawed.

My cat just got a tooth pulled and a teeth cleaning today. The vet put him under anesthesia. He just got home. He has been walking back and forth, but I finally put him in his favorite bed. He is just laying there, but his eyes are watering and his toungue is slighty out. His breaths are at a faster than usual rate and really deep. When he exhales it kind of seems like it's shaking his whole body. Now my neighbors cat who also had this same thing done today is fine. He is eating and playing.

It's really freaking me out. He's 9 years old & we had all the proper tests done before saying he was ok for it.

Is this all normal?

It is raised up maybe a 1/4 of an inch. Its not red or oozing, just stiff and she is not acting like she is in pain. I just want to be sure it is not infected.

He is about 2 years old. He gets fleas a lot. I give him a flea bath once a month, spray the apartment with flea spray, use flea drops on him, use flea powder on the carpet and brush him. When I took him to the vet a year ago she told me his skin was just bumpy and scaley from fleas and it will just go away. Well it has not and we only have a very small flea problem now so I really don't think it is the fleas making his skin bumpy and scaley. He also is loosing hair. I have another cat who has no problems at all?? What could be wrong? Is there anything I can feed him/ put on him to make him better. He is always licking and scratching himself and getting his dead skin all over and hair! Yuck!

She will be under the computer desk one day and then the next day she will be behind the television and then the next day she will be in the middle of the front room floor. She usually lays in that one spot most of the day except when she gets up to eat or play. What is it about certain spots that cats like? There is no sunshine on that spot and she has not "done her business" on the floor either.

My cat gave birth to 4 babies yesterday morning. I was petting her today and felt a bump in her stomach. I was feeling around and it feels like another baby. Her stomach is also still a little big. She is acting fine, and I dont know if I should take her into the vet, or let nature take its course. Has anyone had a cat have another baby after a day or so?

The little children are incouraged to throw big stones and bricks at cats and dogs, they get this treatment from the time they are born to the time they die. I have seen it with my own eyes. There was a little kitten who lost an eye by having a huge brick chucked at it and its ear was split in two by the inpact.
Most of the dogs in the poorer places of Mexico, go around like walking skeletons.
What is the answer to this problem???

It is not like this happened when they were new, it was earlier today they are almost a month old. I am so proud
