She will be under the computer desk one day and then the next day she will be behind the television and then the next day she will be in the middle of the front room floor. She usually lays in that one spot most of the day except when she gets up to eat or play. What is it about certain spots that cats like? There is no sunshine on that spot and she has not "done her business" on the floor either.

Cats do that (I have two). They do have a few favorite spots but they'll lay wherever they're comfortable and safe, sometimes near you, sometimes not depending on their mood.

I have 5 cats (with a new additon as of today, making 5 cats and a little kitten) and NONE of them ever lay in the same spot. They constantly move around from spot to spot. They get up, play/walk around/ and then plop down wherever they want.

Its nothing to be concerned about.

She may be looking for a spot she likes. My cat is always laying down in different spots so it's normal and there's nothing wrong.

My cats have a schedule, moving from drier to armchair to front window to bed, or some other routine. My older cat won't break his habits even when the power is out and it is very cold in the house.

Just lucky it hasn't hit her that your recliner is where you like sitting all the time . When she does that is where she is going to homestead and dare you to move her.
Seriously cats just like moving around in their territory, kind of a part defending her territory and part "I think I'll try here today. I laid over there yesterday," on their parts. More or less just where the mood strikes them to lay.
