My one cat had two kittens about a month ago, and the barn cat had 5 about the same time...the mom with 5 has lost 4 I took the last one gave it to the one with two and she adopted it......how cool is that. It is not like this happened when they were new, it was earlier today they are almost a month old. I am so proud

congratulations! When I was a child one of my cats was killed by a car right about the time when her kittens were weaning. Another cat of ours (male) took over as a surrogate.He would just lay down and the kittens would grab a patch of fur and knead until they fell asleep. Some continued this behavior long past what would be considered appropriate. But we figured if everyone was happy....

This is very common in mother cats usually they take to the new kitten right away other times it takes a day or so for her to come around....
But congrats!
