My two cats that I had loved the bath. They played in the water. Everytime I got out of the bath or shower they would jump in a roll all around. Naturally a cat doesn't like water but I started giving mine a bath when they were young.

Most cats DON'T like water. I guess they figure that since they're always licking themselves clean anyway- a water bath is unnecessary. I had a cat for 15 years & I NEVER gave her a bath... She didn't need it. -She was cleaner than the rest of us were! :)

I haven't the slightest, but since I have a cat, and have to bathe her every 4 to 6 months --and the scars to show it--I highly recommend clipping her nails the day before you plan to bathe her.

cause that is the way cats are. if you give a bath and start at a early age when they are a kitten they will still put up a fight but they wont mind it as much when you do it to them when they get older as long as you do it on a constant basis. like once a month or once every other month.

Most cats have a natural dislike for water. If you don't introduce bathing to a cat when it is a small kitten, it will usually not like it when its an adult.

The first cats were desert animals. They don't need baths the way dogs do because they clean themselves.
Come to think of it, I don't blame the cat. Here he is, snoozing in a chair, really enjoying himself and someone snatches him up, dumps him in a tub of water and gets him soaking wet.
Would you like that?

for the same reason humans don't like fire it's a primal fear.
don't do anything to your pets that you don't want done to you.
your cat doesn't like water and bathing so don't expose him/her to that. if he or she does need to freshen up use a soft cloth and kitty bath in a bottle or a similar brand available in any pet store

Well do you like being shoved into the water when you don't want to get wet. I know i don't i mean who does. plus with fur it take so long to get dry you'd be wet for hours.
