Just moved into a new house, and it has roaches!!!

I scheduled an appointment with Terminix, but I'm concerned that the chemicals they use will harm my cars (we have three cats, and one is just a kitten). If anything happened to them i would be very sad (and my girlfriend would murder me for scheduling the appointment).

So, are chemicals used by Terminix "pet safe"?

The Terminix guy i spoke with said "of course they are pet safe", but i wanted a second (and hopefully third and forth) opinion that was not the salesman!

Please help ASAP. The Terminex guy will be here in a couple of days!

Thanks!

Oh my, I took ya'lls advice...I went back in the garage. I found them. They were behind a mattress and boxspring, on a couch, under an end table that is on the couch. And that end table was surrounded by another end table and bunches of boxes. They were meowing, but had no sound. I got the mother cat and tried to make her lay down so they could eat, but she wanted to get up...She went back and sat with the orange one. The black ones are walking still, and now they are meowing aloud. I put them all in a good sized pet carrier, mother included. Do you think this will force her to feed them or what should I do??? Should I feed them or wait and see what happens while they're in the carrier? The mother is laying down now for all of them.

I've never owned a cat, but it is in my own limited understanding that a lot of cats are allowed to roam free outside of their homes. I understand how a dog would look stray and lost, but how do they determine a stray cat from a housecat just out and about (with no tags on it's collar)?

I recently acquired five white Siamese kittens for fostering. I've managed to get rid of the flea and ear mite infestation, but am struggling with a skin fungus...it's mostly alleviated with two baths in a week's time with Dawn dish detergent (great for fleas, folks!!!)...I don't have the money for a vet yet, anyone have any homegrown ideas I can use to get this problem under control?

I have one 9 yearold cat, and an 7-8 week old kitten. i have had the new one since she was 3 weeks.
We finally moved her onto hard kitten food, the only probelm is, is that my aduly cat eats her food. He doesn't eat his adult/senior food anymore. And, it might just be me, but he seems to have gained a substantial amount of weight. But, it just won't stop. what should i do?
Also, my mom has been thinking of giving the kitten to a different owner, because my other cat seems to have been acting not like himself lately. He's always sleeping, and he never comes around meowing anymore...should i be worried? if so, what should i do about that too?!?!
PLEASE HELP! :S

My friend asked me to come over to help him get rid of a few woodland creatures. He just got this old farm from his grandpa and it had a old farm house hes rebuilding and the basement is old and also has a root cellar.Hes to big to go into the root cellar and a oppussum made its home in it. I climb down to the basemen because there is no stairs i forget the flashlight i yell to my friend toss it down and and he throws it like a baseball hitting me bewteen the eyes. I had a few choice words for him and i turn on the flash light and i see that the oppussum runs through the hole which is about 3 feet wide and 6 feet deep to the other side stupid me didnt see the door i could of used. I get to the root cellar and the floor is old and weak and wooden, there are shelves and other old items. I see the oppussum in the corner i go after it runs between my legs and i go after it not looking where i was going i run right into the door face first i stumble backwards then i see it trying to get out the hole i blocked with a wooden borad i grab the beast by the tail and yell i catch himmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm thats when my flashlight went out and me and the oppussum go down the floor breaks and we fall 10 feet down into a hole i was covered in spider webs and spiders and other creepy crawly things with oppussum in one arm and my flashlight in the other i put the oppussum down and reach around and feel something and i smack my flashlight and when it comes on i see whats in my hand my friends great great grandpas skull they didnt know where he was buried he died in 1875 and well guess who landed on him. Freaked me out man. I climb out and get back up to the basement. And my friend says where is the oppussum. Why cant crazy werid things happen to you guys and not me.

If they are such a high quality brand, why do they not put Taurine in their dry cat food? Without taurine cats can go blind, it's essential to them.

I am thinking about getting another cat in my apartment. I have had the one I have now since Feb. He has been introduced to a few other animals and seems intreged by them but has not yet interacted with them. The kitten I am thinking about getting is the same age as mine now they will be 9 months. At this age will it be easier to introduce them as it would two older cats or an older cat to a younger one? Thanks

I have a 2 and a half year old male cat (almost 3) named Ollie and I just got a new male kitten named Connor he's 11 weeks old. I know its normal for the older cat to clean the kitten, which Ollie is doing. But my question is is it normal for an older cat to bite the younger cat? Ollie has only done this once to Connor and it was in the neck area. He's gotten past the stage of hissing at Connor whenever he sniffs him. But why did he bite him? Is he trying to assert dominance?

He has a very healthy appitite until his rumaging causes his discomfort and then he wont eat anything which results in a costly trip to the vets.

they definitely do not have it? I thought I read somewhere that sometimes it will show up negative but then later on change?- This confused me because I thought once it shows negative it means they don't have it at all. Also, do the feline vaccines for this prevent a cat from getting it (especially from other cats)? Thanks! And Thank you to everyone who answered my similar question, which I forgot to include this question into!

she's about 5 years old and NEVER used to do this until recently. she poops everywhere besides her litter box. her fav place is in my bathroom right in front of the toilet and she just added the laundry room to her list. i'm going crazy because nothing i have tried is making her stop!!! last night my boyfriend and i thoroughly cleaned the laundry room (which is where her litter box is, nice and quiet), bought her a new litter box with fresh litter and even set off some candles in there. when i woke up this morning...she had pooped again OUTSIDE of her box. i'm really at wits end, help!!!!!!!!!!

If a stray cat bites you, would it show signs of rabies soon after that? What are some symtoms? How soon should it start showing signs?

It is becoming out of control. Seriously. I cannot control her. She goes off doing things that she isn't supposed to do. I tried everything...spray bottles, NO, and have come to hitting her a bit. Is there anything suggested? I really need to get her behavior in shape. She also chews like crazy on my wires n cables.

Me and my sister are taking my cat to the vet for surgery. She really hates to be in the car, so is there a way to make it less stressful for her. Should i put the carrier on my lap, or on the seat or on the floor? What is the best thing to do?

I really want to adopt in the future, especially more cats, but I worry about things like mentioned above because I already have healthy happy cats at home. Please answer if you know for sure. I'd appreciate help and advice (especially from multiple cat owners who've adopted) so that I can rest assured.
Thank you!
