Oh my, I took ya'lls advice...I went back in the garage. I found them. They were behind a mattress and boxspring, on a couch, under an end table that is on the couch. And that end table was surrounded by another end table and bunches of boxes. They were meowing, but had no sound. I got the mother cat and tried to make her lay down so they could eat, but she wanted to get up...She went back and sat with the orange one. The black ones are walking still, and now they are meowing aloud. I put them all in a good sized pet carrier, mother included. Do you think this will force her to feed them or what should I do??? Should I feed them or wait and see what happens while they're in the carrier? The mother is laying down now for all of them.

Let the mother do her job. If there seems to be a problem, then intervene. She may have separated them by 'color', meaning she sensed a reason to hide the black ones separate from the orange kitty.

Switch to kitten food for the mother, as she will need extra nourishment and calories.

I posted a link on newborn kittens and the mother that may help answer some of your questions.

Good job. I would just watch them to make sure she is feeding them all. Do you have Momma cat on Kitten food? If not I would suggest buying some kitten food and giving it to her. She can use the extra calories and nutrients and pass those on to kittens through her milk.

Eventually you are going to have to let her out of the carrier to go potty though. Do you have a bathroom where you can lock her up with a box, food, water and kittens so that she can have access to everything freely? If you do, put a small night light in there with her for some light and turn off the big light and just leave her be. The more comfortable and safe she feels the more likely she will adapt and take care of her babies.

Let Nature takes its course for now. Do you have them in an out-of-the-way place in your home where they will not be disturbed? Like, a bathroom or a room that is hardly used? Put 'em all in there and close the door and tell kids hands off. Mama will need a kittybox and food and water, also. Mama might6 get upset and abandon the kittens completely if there's too much (or any) disturbance. For more information go to kittenrescue.org.

The mother will probably feed them when she's ready. Just make sure the mother has food and water to eat too.

Keep them in the carrier, mom will take care of them. Evidently their meows aren't of hunger or distress if she's left them to walk around. They'll be OK, just keep an eye on them.

If she is laying down and feeding them, they should stop crying. If you see them go on crying, like they are hungry, maybe you could get a feeding bottle and kitten milk and give them a little extra.
